Inspired by the concept of archaeological strata, KATMAN aims to make a meaningful, layered contribution in each issue to the learning, teaching, and promotion of cultural heritage. KATMAN: Journal of Archaeological Science is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal that seeks to contribute to the international scholarly community in fields such as Prehistory, Protohistory, the Greek and Roman periods, Late Antiquity, Cultural Heritage Studies, Documentation of Cultural Assets through Generative Artificial Intelligence, Anthropology, and Translations of Archaeological Texts.

Both Turkish and English versions of the journal abbreviate it as KATMAN. It accepts submissions in the form of research articles, review papers, book reviews, excavation reports, and thematic special issues. Published annually at the end of December, the journal fully adheres to academic ethics and publishing standards through a double-blind peer review process. All submitted articles are evaluated based on originality, scholarly contribution, methodological accuracy, and ethical compliance.

In accordance with its open-access policy, all published content is freely accessible. No article processing charges or submission fees are requested from authors.

To ensure academic integrity, all submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism checks, and any instances of scientific misconduct are rigorously reviewed. The journal takes the necessary actions in cases of publication ethics violations.
