The Relationship Between Psychological Empowerment and Job Satisfaction: A Meta-Analysis Study

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction through meta-analysis. Within this scope, a meta-analysis was conducted on 19 studies that examined psychological empowerment alongside job satisfaction and provided the requisite sample sizes and Pearson correlation coefficients (r) for the meta-analysis. Values for effect size, publication bias, heterogeneity, and significance tests were obtained using CMA 4.0 software. PRISMA protocol steps were followed to report the study. Under the random effects model, the effect size between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction was calculated as r = 0.722, and the 95% confidence interval was 0.610 to 0.834, indicating a strong positive relationship. The heterogeneity test yielded an I² value of 95.94 % and a Q-value of 444.012, showing that the study has a heterogeneous structure. According to the random effects model results, Fisher's z effect size of 0.722 (0,610-0,834) was determined to be statistically significant (z=12.635; p=0.000). The finding demonstrates a high level of positive correlation between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction
