About the Journal
The Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Sports Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published digitally twice a year, in June and December. The journal aims to disseminate current scientific developments, original research findings, and scholarly discussions in the field of sports sciences to the national and international academic community.
As of the June 2026 issue, the journal accepts and publishes manuscripts exclusively in English in order to enhance international visibility, ensure wider academic accessibility, and promote global scholarly exchange.
The journal is committed to publishing high-quality, reliable, and ethically sound scientific research through a transparent and rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Emphasising academic integrity, methodological rigor, editorial independence, and ethical responsibility, the journal aims to contribute to the development and international visibility of sports sciences research.
The Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Sports Sciences provides an inclusive academic platform that welcomes contributions from both early-career researchers and experienced scholars. The journal supports the dissemination of diverse, innovative, and interdisciplinary studies across the broad spectrum of sports sciences.
With the objective of enhancing its international visibility and recognition, the journal seeks to foster an academic environment in which researchers from Türkiye and scholars from around the world can contribute. In doing so, the journal supports the global exchange of knowledge, encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthens scientific interaction within the field of sports sciences.
In accordance with national and international research ethics standards, ethics committee approval is mandatory for all research articles involving human participants, animals, personal data, surveys, interviews, experiments, observations, or intervention procedures. Manuscripts lacking the required ethics approval will not be considered for review.
This requirement does not generally apply to systematic reviews, meta-analyses, narrative review articles, bibliometric studies, scientometric studies, or studies based entirely on publicly available non-identifiable secondary data. However, authors must clearly state the reason for exemption in the Methodology or Declarations section of the manuscript.
