About the Journal
The journal’s registered Turkish title is Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Dergisi, and its English title is Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Sports Sciences.

The journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published digitally twice a year, in June and December. It aims to disseminate current scientific developments, original research findings, and scholarly discussions in the field of sports sciences to national and international academic communities.
As of the June 2026 issue, the journal accepts and publishes manuscripts exclusively in English to enhance its international visibility, ensure wider academic accessibility, and promote global scholarly exchange.
The journal is committed to publishing high-quality, reliable, and ethically sound scientific research through a transparent and rigorous editorial process. All research and review articles undergo initial editorial screening followed by double-blind external peer review by at least two independent reviewers. The journal emphasizes academic integrity, methodological rigor, editorial independence, transparency, and ethical responsibility.
The Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Sports Sciences provides an inclusive academic platform that welcomes contributions from both early-career researchers and experienced scholars. It supports the dissemination of diverse, innovative, and interdisciplinary studies across the broad spectrum of sports sciences.
The journal seeks to foster an academic environment in which researchers from Türkiye and scholars from around the world can contribute. Research Ethics
In accordance with applicable national and international research ethics standards, ethics committee approval is mandatory for research involving human participants, animals, identifiable personal data, surveys, interviews, experiments, observations, intervention procedures, or other forms of direct data collection requiring ethical oversight. Manuscripts lacking the required ethics committee approval will not be considered for peer review.
This requirement does not generally apply to systematic reviews, meta-analyses, narrative review articles, bibliometric or scientometric studies, or studies based entirely on publicly available and non-identifiable secondary data. Authors must clearly state the reason for exemption in the Methodology or Declarations section of the manuscript.

Ownership, Management and Funding
The Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Sports Sciences is owned, managed, and published by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The journal receives financial and administrative support from the University. Hosting and editorial workflow infrastructure are provided through DergiPark.
The journal receives no revenue from submission fees, editorial processing charges, article processing charges, subscriptions, advertising, reprints, or commercial sponsorship. No fee is charged to authors or readers at any stage of submission, evaluation, publication, or access.
Financial, administrative, and institutional support does not influence manuscript evaluation, reviewer selection, editorial decisions, or publication outcomes. Editorial decisions are made independently on the basis of scientific merit, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
