The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies(JOCS) is a peer-reviewed journal that started to published at the year 2015 and includes authentic research in the field of Ottoman History and Ottoman Civilization.

The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies [JOCS], is published twice a year, these publication months being April and October. If it is seen as necessary, the special issue(s) are published as well. Journal, also publishes a promotion of scientific translation and books.

The author(s) are responsible for the ideas and viewpoints that are stated in the scientific articles and published in The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies (JOCS). The articles that are sent to be published are sent to at least two referees that are experts in their fields using the two-sided blind referee principle. In the case of one of the referee's negative assessments, the text is sent to a third referee. The last is decision is made by the journal advice and publication board. In order for the execution of the two-sided blind referee method, the authors need to don't consist any information in their text that shows their identity information before adding their texts to the system. Author information will be added later on by the editors in the step of correction.

The authors who submit their articles to the journal are assumed to agree to give their articles' copyrights to the journal. The publication rights of all the accepted publications belong to The Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies [JOCS].

JOCS organizes or supports in-country or abroad academic conferences, symposiums, workshops, etc. It includes the full versions of the proclamations that are submitted in these studies, only if it is not published elsewhere.

The studies that are sent to be published in the Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies (JOCS) are firstly examined by editors or section editors in the terms of whether it obliges to the journal's publication principles or not. If the study is in alliance with the journal's publication principles it is then sent to at least two referees to be evaluated. In the case of a stated negative review from one of the referees, it is sent to a third referee. The studies' similarity reports are deducted before they are sent to the referees by the programs Turnitin and iThenticate. If the similarity is above the %25, the text is returned to its author. The similarity reports of studies that are taken into the publication process are sent to the referees for information purposes.


The Assessment Process

If you are considering submitting an article to our journal, we are suggesting you examine our journal, the journal's publication policy, and the author guide. Authors should be signed up first to submit work. After the sign-up, via the entry link, you can start the submitting process which includes 3 steps. In the texts that are going to be uploaded to the system, the name and other information should not be included in any way. These informations are later included by the editors before the publication.
