Evaluation Process

The article submitted to JOSCAT must not have been previously published or decided for publication. All articles submitted to JOSCAT are subject to two-stage review, including pre-evaluation and referee evaluation.

The article in the field of culture and tourism, which is intended to be sent to JOSCAT, is first sent to the relevant field editor by e-mail. As a result of the preliminary evaluation conducted by the field editor; The article which does not meet the purpose and scope of the journal, does not meet the publication policies, is weak in terms of language and narrative rules, contains scientifically critical errors, has no original value and cannot pass the ethical control is rejected. As a result of the pre-evaluation, the article(s) that are found appropriate for their scientific competence are reported to the author(s) and uploaded to the system by the author(s). The article uploaded to the system is directed by the editor to the assistant editors in order to determine the percentage of plagiarism. Boundary article is sent to the two referees who are experts in their field by the help of the editorial assistants. The referee must declare his acceptance of the arbitration within 5 (five) days. The evaluating referees are considered to have assured that they will not share any process and document about the articles they evaluate.

Referee reviews are generally made within the scope of the originality, method, findings and results of the article. The peer review process is maximum 1 (one) month. The referees may decide on their eligibility for an article or request a correction if they deem it necessary. The author(s) must take into account the evaluations of the editorial board and the evaluation reports of the referees. In case the referee evaluation reports are positive, the article is sent to the editorial board by the relevant field editor. With the approval of the editorial board, the article is placed in the order of publication. In the case of a referee's report, the article is sent to the third referee or submitted to the decision of the chief editor. In the case of being sent to the third referee, the publication status of the article shall be determined positively or negatively according to the referee's evaluation report. Regarding the process, the author(s) are always informed.
