Article Evaluation Policy: Double-Blind Peer Review
Articles submitted to our journal are published after undergoing the following processes:
- Articles that have not been previously published or are not currently under review for publication in another journal, and that have been approved by each author, are accepted for evaluation.
- All submissions are subject to preliminary review by the Journal Editor.
- The work is reviewed by the editor for compliance with the journal's publication principles, academic writing rules, and the ISNAD Citation System, and is screened for plagiarism using the Turnitin Program. A similarity rate of less than 20% is required.
- Works that pass this review are sent to the Writing Editor. The Writing Editor checks whether the submitted work is suitable for the Sufiyye Journal in all aspects and whether the writing rules have been followed.
- Manuscripts that pass the Writing Editor are sent to one of our Field Editors. The Field Editor reviews the article in terms of academic style, content, contribution to the field, etc. The Field Editor makes recommendations on whether the article should be sent to reviewers.
- The Sufiyye Editor decides on the review of the article, taking into account the opinions of the Field Editor.
- The Journal Editor sends articles deemed suitable for submission to reviewers to two reviewers using a double-blind review process. Reviewers with at least one publication on the subject of the article are preferred. If this is not possible, reviewers with the closest field of expertise are preferred.
- The two reviewers are requested to evaluate the article within 14 days. The review process is conducted confidentially within the framework of the double-blind review system. The reviewer is requested to state their opinion and judgment on the work they have reviewed either in the text or with an explanation on the online review form. The author is given the right to object and defend their views if they do not agree with the reviewers' opinions. The field editor facilitates mutual communication between the author and the reviewers while maintaining confidentiality. If both reviewer reports are positive, the work is submitted to the Editorial Board for consideration of publication. If one of the two reviewers expresses a negative opinion, the work is sent to a third reviewer. Works can be published with the positive decision of at least two reviewers.
- Articles that receive positive reports from the reviewers are sent to the author for the necessary corrections. The author submits the corrections made in red to the field editor. The field editor checks whether the author has made the corrections requested in the text.
- Articles that have completed the review process are sent to the Language Editor. Our Language Editors check the Abstract and Keywords sections of the article and prepare their report.
- After the Language Editor's review, the article is sent to the Final Reading Editor. The Final Reading Editor checks the article from beginning to end to ensure that it complies with the ISNAD Citation System.
- Articles that have completed all processes are checked again by the Editor and sent back to the author for final checks.
- Articles that have passed technical, academic, and linguistic reviews are examined by the Editorial Board, and the final publication status is decided. If there are objections from members, the Board makes a decision by majority vote.
- Articles that have completed all processes are sent to the Layout Editor. After layout, the articles are assigned to an issue.
- All processes mentioned above take an average of 10 weeks.
