Ethics Committee Approval
Our journal requires that all studies in scientific fields requiring ethics committee approval have obtained the relevant ethics committee decision. In this context, information regarding ethics committee approval (committee name, date, and decision number) must be clearly stated in the article text.
In line with the regulations implemented by Ulakbim TR Index since 2020, studies without ethical committee approval are not considered for publication in our journal.
Studies Requiring Ethical Committee Approval
Studies requiring ethical committee approval in our journal include the following:
• All research conducted using qualitative or quantitative approaches that involve collecting data from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus group studies, observations, experiments, and interviews,
• Studies in which humans and animals (including materials or data) are used for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical research conducted on humans,
• Scientific research conducted on animals,
• Retrospective studies within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law.
For such studies to be considered for evaluation, the relevant ethical committee approvals must have been obtained and these approvals must be clearly stated in the article text.

NOTE: Scientific research conducted on humans and animals must be conducted in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration and ARRIVE guidelines and must be approved by the relevant ethical committee.

Use of Artificial Intelligence
If artificial intelligence-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) were used in the article production process, the stages in which they were used must be clearly stated. This information must be provided during the article submission process. All responsibility for the use of artificial intelligence lies with the authors.

Correction, Retraction, Expression of Concern
If editors identify minor errors in a published article that do not affect the findings, interpretations, or conclusions, they may consider publishing a correction. If there are major errors/violations that invalidate the findings and conclusions, editors should consider retracting the article. If there is a possibility that the research or publication has been misused by the authors; if there is evidence that the findings are unreliable and the authors' institutions have not investigated the matter, or if a possible investigation appears to be unfair or inconclusive, editors should consider publishing a statement of concern. COPE guidelines are taken into account regarding corrections, retractions, or statements of concern.

Plagiarism Action Plan and Journal Measures
Our journal checks submitted works for plagiarism: Articles undergo a preliminary check and are scanned for plagiarism using TURNITIN software. If plagiarism/self-plagiarism is detected, the authors are notified. Editors may subject the article to plagiarism checks at various stages of the review or production process if necessary. High similarity rates may result in an article being rejected before acceptance or even after acceptance. This rate is expected to be less than 20%.

NOTE: If plagiarism is detected in an article submitted to or published in our journal, our journal will act in accordance with COPE principles (Plagiarism in a submitted manuscript - Plagiarism in a published article).

Conflicts of Interest
Our journal ensures that the publication process is completed independently and impartially, taking into account conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, and other editors. In multi-authored works, a statement of contribution, acknowledgments, and conflict of interest should be included at the end of the work after the review process is completed. If members of our editorial board publish articles in our journal, all their duties in the relevant issue are suspended. Violations of the double-blind peer review system are not permitted under any circumstances. Such publications may not exceed 1/4 of the total number of articles in the issue.

Relationships with the Journal Owner and Publisher
The relationship between the editor and the publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. According to the written agreement between the editor and the publisher, all decisions made by the editor are independent of the publisher and journal owner.

Protection of Personal Data
Our journal is responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data related to subjects or images included in the evaluated studies. The journal is obligated to reject studies unless the explicit consent of the individuals used in the studies is documented. In addition, our journal is responsible for protecting the personal data of authors, referees, and readers.

Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
Our journal is responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defending the rights of the journal and authors in the event of possible infringements. In addition, our journal is responsible for taking the necessary measures to ensure that the content of all published articles does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of other publications.

Complaints and Error Reports
Ethical issues, complaints, or error reports should be sent to journalofsufiyye@gmail.com. Our journal evaluates all reports in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Author Changes
Only accepted articles are processed. Authors must carefully review the list of authors and their order before submitting their articles and provide the final list of authors at the time of initial submission.

Responsibilities of Stakeholders
Our readers and stakeholders can report any significant errors they see in articles published in Sufiyye Journal or violations of scientific research and publication ethics by sending an email to journalofsufiyye@gmail.com. We welcome such reports as they provide us with opportunities for improvement, and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.

1- Editors' Responsibilities
Impartiality and Publisher's Freedom: Editors evaluate submitted article proposals based on their relevance to the journal's scope and the importance and originality of the work. Editors do not take into account the race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, nationality, or political views of the authors submitting article proposals. No other institutions outside the journal's editorial board can influence the decision to revise or publish. Editors take care to ensure that published issues contribute to readers, researchers, practitioners, and the scientific field and are of original quality.
Independence: The relationship between editors (editors and associate editors) and the publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. According to the written agreement between editors and the publisher, all decisions made by editors are independent of the publisher and journal owner. Editors must reject incomplete or flawed research that does not comply with journal policy, publication rules, and standards without any external influence.
Confidentiality: Editors do not share information about a submitted manuscript with anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the editorial board. They ensure that manuscripts reviewed by at least two reviewers are evaluated according to a double-blind peer review system and keep the reviewers confidential.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors and editorial board members do not use unpublished information from a submitted article for their own research purposes without the author's express written permission. Editors should not have a conflict of interest regarding the articles they accept or reject.
Publication Decision: Editors ensure that all articles accepted for publication are subject to peer review by at least two experts in the field. Editors are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal will be published, based on the validity of the work, its importance to researchers and readers, the reviewers' comments, and other legal conditions. Editors have the responsibility and authority to accept or reject articles. Therefore, they must exercise their responsibility and authority appropriately and in a timely manner.
Ethical Concerns: Editors will take measures when ethical concerns arise regarding a submitted manuscript or published article. Indeed, they continue their work processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards. Any reported unethical publishing behavior will be investigated, even if it emerges years after publication. Editors follow COPE Flowcharts when ethical concerns arise. If the ethical issues are significant, corrections, retractions, or concerns related to the issue may be published in the journal.
Collaboration with Journal Boards: Editors ensure that all advisory board members advance processes in accordance with publication policies and guidelines. They inform advisory board members about publication policies. They ensure that advisory board members evaluate work independently. They may contribute to new advisory board members and make appropriate decisions. They should send works appropriate to the expertise of the advisory board members for evaluation. They interact regularly with the advisory board. They hold regular meetings with the editorial board regarding publication policies and journal development.

2-Responsibilities of Authors
Reporting standards: The authors of original research should ensure that the work and results are accurately presented and that the significance of the work is objectively discussed. The article proposal should contain sufficient detail and references.
Data access and storage: Authors must store the raw data of their studies. When requested by the journal, they must submit it for editorial review.
Originality and plagiarism: Authors must submit completely original works, and if they have used the work or words of others, these must be properly cited. Plagiarism constitutes unethical publishing behavior in all its forms and is unacceptable. Therefore, all authors submitting articles to the journal are required to provide a similarity report.
Multiple, repeated, redundant, or simultaneous submission/publication: Authors should not submit an article that has already been published in another journal for review. Submitting an article to multiple journals simultaneously constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Authorship of the article: Only those who meet the authorship criteria should be listed as authors in the article. These authorship criteria are as follows: (i) contributed to the design, implementation, data collection, or analysis; (ii) prepared the manuscript or made significant intellectual contributions or critically revised it; or (iii) reviewed the final version of the manuscript, approved it, and agreed to submit it for publication. The corresponding author must ensure that all authors (as defined above) are included in the author list and must declare that the authors have seen the final version of the article and agreed to submit it for publication.
Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Authors should disclose conflicts of interest at the earliest possible stage (typically by submitting a disclosure form at the time of submission and including a statement in the article). All sources of financial support for the work should be disclosed (including grant/funding numbers or other license numbers, if applicable).
Peer review process: Authors are required to participate in the peer review process and are obligated to cooperate fully by promptly responding to editors' requests for raw data, explanations, proof of ethical approval, and copyright permissions. If a “required revision” decision is made initially, authors must systematically review their manuscripts in response to the reviewers' comments and resubmit them by the specified deadline.
Fundamental errors in published works: If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published works, they are obligated to immediately notify the journal editors or publishers and collaborate with them to correct the article with a typographical error (erratum) or withdraw the article from publication. If editors or publishers learn from a third party that a published work contains a significant error or inaccuracy, they should take responsibility for ensuring that the author immediately corrects or retracts the article or provides evidence of the paper's accuracy to the journal editors.

3-Responsibilities of Reviewers
Contributing to editorial decisions: Reviewers assist editors in their decisions and help authors improve their articles through editorial communication. Any deficiencies in the article, such as other articles, works, sources, citations, rules, and the like, should be pointed out.
Speed: Any reviewer who does not feel qualified to review a manuscript proposal or knows that the manuscript review cannot be completed on time should immediately notify the editors and decline the review invitation so that a new reviewer can be appointed.
Confidentiality: All manuscript proposals submitted for review are confidential documents and should be treated as such. They should not be shown or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor. This also applies to reviewers who decline the review invitation.
Impartiality standards: Comments on the article proposal should be made impartially, and suggestions should be made in a way that authors can use to improve the article. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
Acceptance of sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. The reviewer should also inform the editor of any significant similarities between the reviewed article and any other article (published or unpublished).
Conflicts of interest: Conflicts of interest should be reported to the editor. There should be no conflict of interest between the reviewers and the stakeholders of the article under review.

PUBLICATION POLICY

A-General Principles
1- It is important to pay attention to the following points when submitting an article in order to ensure a sound and scientific evaluation process.
2- Articles submitted to the journal must not have been published anywhere else before and must not be in the process of being published in another journal. Submitting an article to another publication without the journal's knowledge before the process is complete is considered unethical. If this is detected, none of the author's subsequent articles will be considered for evaluation.
3- The journal's language is Turkish, but articles in English, Arabic, and Persian may also be published.
4- Articles submitted to the journal are reviewed for suitability for publication (articles deemed unsuitable for publication are not included in the process) and then sent to two reviewers. Articles that receive two favorable reports from the reviewers are published in an issue deemed appropriate by the journal management. If one referee's report is positive and the other is negative, the article is sent to a third referee. In this case, the decision to publish or not publish the article is made based on the third referee's report.
5- Articles submitted to Sufiyye in the form of original articles, preparatory texts (critical editions), translations, book reviews, and meeting notes are evaluated.
6- If the articles have been presented as papers at a previous conference, symposium, or meeting, they may be published if deemed appropriate by the editorial board, provided that the date and location are specified. All responsibility in this regard lies with the authors.
7- Articles submitted to the journal must comply with language rules (spelling, punctuation, clarity, comprehensibility, etc.). Therefore, the author is fully responsible for any problems and criticisms that may arise.
8- Our journal does not accept more than one work by the same author in the same period. In addition, articles by the same author cannot be published in two consecutive issues.
9-Articles that are not submitted within the dates announced on our journal's website will not be considered for evaluation.
10-If it is determined that the data used in the articles has been manipulated, distorted, or fabricated, the author's institution will be officially notified of this situation, and the article will be rejected. Sufiyye Journal has the right to request output files related to the analysis results from the authors based on the feedback provided by the editors and/or reviewers.
11-If the work being prepared for publication is derived from a book chapter, unpublished conference paper, or master's or doctoral thesis, this must be clearly stated in both Turkish and English on the first page of the work.
12-Articles whose peer review process has been completed are notified to the authors one month before the issue in which publication is decided; authors are requested to review and submit the final version of the articles.
13- Sufiyye reserves the right to publish or not publish submitted articles and to make corrections to articles as deemed necessary. The legal responsibility for an article published in the journal rests with the author and does not bind the journal. Authors submitting articles to the journal are deemed to have accepted these principles. Articles that do not comply with these principles will not be considered for evaluation.
14- The publication processes applied in Sufiyye Journal form the basis for the impartial and respectable development and distribution of information. The processes applied in this direction directly reflect the quality of the work of authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed studies are studies that concretize and support the scientific method. At this point, it is important that all stakeholders in the process (authors, readers and researchers, publishers, referees, and editors) comply with ethical standards.
