Peer-Reviewing Process

Manuscripts submitted to Talim undergo a rigorous and transparent evaluation process through the following stages:

1. Article Submission Stage
Authors can submit their manuscripts to Talim via the DergiPark system. To do this: Log in to your DergiPark account and initiate the submission process at https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/talim

2. Plagiarism (Similarity) Check
All responsibility concerning plagiarism and similarity rests with the authors. A low similarity rate alone is not sufficient; even a 1% similarity can be considered plagiarism if not properly cited. Full compliance with citation and quotation rules (ISNAD Citation Style, 2nd Edition) is essential. Thanks to the collaboration between DergiPark and iThenticate (intihal.net), a similarity report is generated automatically for each article. The report result is communicated to the author via email, completing this stage.

3. Preliminary Review and Editorial Control
Articles that fall outside the journal's scope, or are deemed insufficient in terms of originality or academic contribution, may be returned by the Editor-in-Chief without justification.

4. Peer Review (Double-Blind Peer Review)
Suitable manuscripts are sent to two reviewers who are experts in the field and hold a minimum of a PhD degree. The process is conducted using a "double-blind" model, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. Reviewers are expected to submit their assessments via an online form and provide a detailed report (at least 100 words) directly on the manuscript. Authors have the right to object to the reviewers' comments and defend their work.
Decision Mechanism: A manuscript requires at least two positive reviews to be published. If one reviewer provides a negative opinion, the article is either sent to a third reviewer or directly rejected.
Revision Cycle: If revisions are requested by the reviewers, authors are expected to complete them within 15 days. Reviewers are then expected to evaluate the revised version within 15 days. This process continues until all requests are satisfactorily addressed.

Main Criteria Considered by Reviewers:
1.Whether the article offers new and significant contributions to the field,
2.Whether the abstract accurately reflects the article's content,
3.Whether the research method is correctly determined and implemented,
4.Whether the conclusions are supported by the findings and the interpretations are consistent,
5.The adequacy of the literature review and correct referencing,
6.The quality of the academic language and expression.

5. Language and Proofreading Check
Manuscripts that complete the peer review process are examined by Language Editors (Turkish/English) for grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules.

6. Publication Decision and Layout
After all revisions are completed, the final publication decision is made by the Talim Editorial Board. The Board reaches a decision by unanimity or majority vote and may request additional revisions if deemed necessary. The layout of accepted articles is handled by the Layout Editor.

7. Final Proofreading and Publication
Articles that have been typeset undergo a final check. Following this final proofreading, articles are queued for publication based on their acceptance dates and the journal's thematic distribution balance, and are then published.
