History of the Journal

The Journal of Turkish Educational Sciences was founded in 2003 by Prof. Dr. M. Çağatay Özdemir, a faculty member at Gazi Faculty of Education, Gazi University. In addition to Prof. Dr. M. Çağatay Özdemir, the first Editorial Board included Prof. Dr. Galip Yüksel and Prof. Dr. Necati Cemaloğlu, both faculty members at Gazi Faculty of Education. The Journal of Turkish Educational Sciences began its publication life in print with four issues per year and, in the same year, was indexed in TR Dizin. By decision of the Editorial Board, as of 2014 the journal continued publication online with two issues per year, and as of 2015 it continued to be indexed in TR Dizin in this format. In 2016, Prof. Dr. Gürcü Koç and Prof. Dr. Kemal Öztemel, faculty members at Gazi Faculty of Education, joined the Editorial Board. Since 2022, the journal has been published three times a year. In 2025, Prof. Dr. Gürcü Koç began serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
