Similarity Policy

As of February 2024, articles are subjected to similarity scanning by the Dergipark system at the submission stage with the Intihal.net programme. Depending on the settings of the programme, similarity rates may be high. At this point, assistant editors make decisions based on the nature of the similarities identified in the report rather than the similarity rate.

The articles are scanned again by the assistant editors using the Turnitin plagiarism scanning programme. Articles with a maximum of 10% similarity rate (excluding bibliographic materials, citations and references with less than 7 words similarity) can continue the process.

If plagiarism/self-plagiarism is detected, the authors are informed. The editorial board also has the option to reject the manuscript according to the content of the report.
