Author Guidelines

TÜDAD's article file template has been updated. Authors submitting articles to our journal must adapt their submissions to the new template. Additionally, the citation and bibliography system has been revised based on APA 7 rules. We kindly ask authors to pay attention to the updated rules in the "Authoring Guidelines" section.
Page Margins:
The article should be prepared in a Word document on an A4 page. Top, bottom, left, and right margins should be 2.5 cm.
Line Spacing/Paragraph and Word Limits:
The main text should be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, single-spaced, and indented 1.25 cm. Main headings and subheadings should not be indented. If a different font is used due to technical requirements, the font used must be added to the system. Turkish-English abstracts, including extended English summaries, figures, tables, images, etc., and the bibliography, should not exceed 10,000 words.
Article Title:
This title should reflect the content of the article and should be no more than 10-12 words. It should be written in capital letters, boldface, 14-point Times New Roman, and centered at the top of the page.
Author Name and Information:
Author information should be written in the spaces provided in the template, in the order indicated: first name with the first letter capitalized, last name in all capital letters, followed by the author's title, institution, mailing address, and ORCID number, followed by a footnote with *. If there is more than one author, each author's name and surname should be listed on the lines below, and other information should be added in the order of authorship as specified above. The footnote for the second author should be **, and for the third author, it should be ***.
Abstract:
The abstract title should be written in bold, with only the first letter capitalized, in Times New Roman 10-point font, and in the position indicated in the template file. The abstract text should be indented 1 cm from both left and right, in Times New Roman 10-point font, and justified. The abstract, must be a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 300 words. Following the abstract, the Keywords title should be displayed in bold, left-justified, without any line spacing, and in the same font and font size. Three to eight keywords should be italicized.
Following the abstract and keywords, the article's English title should be written in bold, all capital letters, Times New Roman 10-point font, centered on the page, with 6 pt spacing before and after. The Abstract should then be written in bold, with only the first letter capitalized, Times New Roman 10-point font, and in the space indicated in the template file. The English abstract should be written in Times New Roman 10-point font, indented 1 cm from both right and left, and justified. The English abstract must be a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 300 words. Following the English abstract, the Keywords title should be displayed in bold, aligned left, without any line spacing, and in the same font and font size. Three to eight keywords should be italicized.
Extended Summary:
As of January 2024, all articles submitted to the journal must include an extended English summary of 750–1000 words. The extended summary should be in 10-point Times New Roman, following the references.
English articles must have a Turkish abstract and an English abstract, but they do not need to include an extended summary.
Headings:
The text should follow a numbered heading system (e.g., 1.-1.1.-1.1.1 or lettered notation). Main headings should be written in bold, with the first letter of each word capitalized, in 12-point Times New Roman, and aligned left. Subheadings should follow the same rules. There should be no paragraph indents within headings. A 6-point space should be left before and after headings.
Use of Figures, Tables, Graphs, etc.:
Figures, maps, tables, and illustrations used within the article must be center-aligned within the text. Each figure, map, table, and illustration must be numbered within its own heading. The numbering, captions, and references must be center-aligned, immediately below the figures, maps, tables, and illustrations, in 10-point Times New Roman. The font for tables or diagrams should be Times New Roman and 8-10 point, depending on the density of the material used. A single line break should be placed before and after each figure. An example of the formatting is provided below.
Example:
Değişkenler Ort. S.S. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

The technical size of the images and diagrams used should be adjusted to the requirements of the article. Care should be taken to ensure they are not too large and to ensure high resolution and readability. Furthermore, care should be taken to avoid using simple images and other elements that do not meet the technical requirements of the article.

References in numerical explanatory footnotes should also be cited using parenthetical notation. Footnotes should be typed in Times New Roman, 10-point font, justified, and single-spaced.

Example: (Köprülü, 1967: 3/p. 195).
