The Journal of Turkish History Research (Türk Tarihi Araştırmaları Dergisi - TTAD) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly platform dedicated to integrating Turkish history within the broader contexts of Eurasian, Mediterranean, and Islamic historiography, strictly adhering to the theoretical and methodological standards of global historical scholarship. Transcending traditional chronological narratives, the journal prioritizes interdisciplinary research that employs rigorous methodologies such as diplomatics, philology, prosopography, and digital humanities.
- Publication Model: As of January 1, 2026, the journal has transitioned to a Continuous Publication Model. Under this model, accepted manuscripts are published online immediately upon completion of the production process, complete with final citation details (DOI and pagination), without waiting for the compilation of a full issue. This approach aims to accelerate the global dissemination of knowledge and ensure that our authors’ research achieves immediate visibility and impact in the international literature.
- Ethical Standards: The journal strictly adheres to the “Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). To ensure impartiality and scientific rigor, all submissions undergo a strict double-blind peer review process.
- Mission: Our mission is to present the academic community with primary source-based studies that demonstrate theoretical depth and methodological precision, spanning from Pre-Islamic steppe cultures to the modern Republic of Turkey. The journal exclusively accepts original research articles and does not consider translations, book reviews, or editorial notes for evaluation.
