International Journal of Business Science and Applications is an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, international and double-blind peer-reviewed journal published online and three times a year (April, August, December) within Düzce University Faculty of Business Administration.

The aim of the journal is to publish empirical studies, theoretical studies, comparative studies and case studies in the sub-disciplines of business science such as management, production, marketing, accounting, finance and human resources and in the disciplines of economics, management information systems, international trade and finance, finance and insurance and social security, which are closely related to business science.

General Rules

Articles (excluding references and appendices) should not be shorter than 5000 words and not longer than 10000 words.

The files to be uploaded to the system related to the manuscript (cover page, article text file, peer reviewer responses, etc.) should be prepared using MS Office Word software (.doc or .docx file format).

Manuscripts should not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

Manuscripts should be submitted in Turkish or English, and the author(s) should prepare the manuscript according to the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual (6th edition).

Times New Roman font should be used throughout the text.

Author(s) should upload the following files to the system:

  • Cover page with information about the author(s)
  • Manuscript (should not include author information)
  • Similarity report (automatically provided by the Dergipark system)

Submitted manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  • Title Page (Turkish title, Turkish abstract, Turkish keywords, English title, English abstract, English keywords)
  • Main Text (Introduction, Literature, Methods, Results, Conclusion)
  • References
  • Appendices (if any)

The author(s) should prepare the manuscript according to the journal template. Manuscripts that are not prepared according to this template will be returned. Click here for the template file.

Page Structure
  • A4 size; margins should be 2 cm from right and left and 1.8 cm from top and bottom.
  • Line spacing should be 1.15 cm.
  • The alignment of the article text should be ‘Justified’ except for the headings, and the headings in the text should be left justified.
  • Indentation in the text of the article: Left: 0, Right: 0, Special: First Line, Value: 0.5.
  • In the bibliography section, Special: Hanging, Value: 1.
  • Page number should be given at the bottom of the page and centered.
Title, Abstract and Keywords
  • The title should be short, clear, and adequately reflect the article.
  • Turkish and English titles should not exceed 15 words if possible.
  • The title should be written in 14 font, bold, and justified to the left. The first letters of the words should be capitalized.
  • The abstract should include a brief summary of each of the main sections of the article and should contain information that will enable the reader to decide to read the article in its entirety.
  • The abstract should be in 10 font and should be written in the box shown in the template.
  • The abstract should contain a maximum of 150 words.
  • Keywords consisting of at least three and at most five words should be written just below the abstract box.
  • Keywords should be in 10-point font size and should be written under the abstract box.
Main Text
  • All headings of the main text should be written with the first letters of the words capitalized, the other letters lowercase, bold, and in 12 pt. font size.
  • The font size of the main text should be 11.
  • There should be 3 nk spaces before and after the paragraphs in the text.
Tables and Figures
  • The text in the tables should be in 10-point font size.
  • Headings in the tables should be bold.
  • Only horizontal lines should be used in the tables.
  • Tables should be numbered, and their titles should be written above the table, justified to the left.
  • Figures should be uploaded in a way that can be easily understood by the readers.
  • Figures should be numbered, and captions should be written just below the figure, left-justified.
Numbering
  • The subject headings in the article should be numbered according to the Arabic system (1. , 1.1, etc.).
  • Only the first letters of the words of the titles should be capitalized.
  • Equations should be given a sequence number. The sequence number should be in brackets and at the far right of the page.
Citation

Citing in the text should be made according to the following rules:

  • Single author study: (Bozdemir, 2017)
  • Study with two authors: (Kara and Aydın, 2019)
  • Study with three authors: (Demirel, Kürü and Yılmaz, 2020)
  • Study with four or more authors: (Aydın et al., 2022)
  • Specifying page numbers: (Yılmaz, 2018:30)
  • Citation: (Smith, 1980; as cited in Korkmaz, 2021).
  • Citation to the institution/organization: First the full name of the institution/organization (Higher Education Council, 2020), then its abbreviation (YÖK, 2020).
References
  • The author(s) should be careful in the bibliography section. A source that is not cited in the text should not be included in the bibliography.
  • References should be prepared according to the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual (6th edition).


International Journal of Business Science and Applications complies with the principles of scientific research and publication ethics. Articles that do not comply with the ethical principles cannot be published, and articles that are later found to violate these principles are removed from the journal. Editors, authors, and peer reviewers are obliged to comply with the principles of publication ethics.

Responsibilities of Author(s):
  • The manuscripts to be submitted must not have been previously published elsewhere or already submitted for publication.
  • All sources used in the preparation of the study must be properly cited and must be shown in the bibliography.
  • The names of all authors who contributed to the study should be written in the manuscript, and the names of people who have no contribution should not be included.
  • When the author(s) upload the manuscript to the system, they declare and undertake that the submitted article is the original work of the author(s), that all authors have participated individually in this study and take full responsibility for this study, that all authors have seen and approved the final version of the submitted article, and that the text, figures, and documents in the article do not violate the copyrights of other persons.
  • The author(s) are obliged to declare all organizations supporting the submitted manuscript, all financial sources, or any conflict of interest.
  • The author(s) acknowledge that the journal editors have the authority to request and review the data used in the study if deemed necessary.
Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
  • Reviewers should make an objective and impartial evaluation.
  • They should not be in conflict of interest with the authors, the study, the institutions, or the funders, if any, and should withdraw from the review when they realize that they are.
  • They should withdraw from refereeing when they believe that they are not competent to evaluate the submitted manuscript or when they foresee that they will not be able to complete the evaluation within a reasonable period of time.
  • They should not violate confidentiality and should not share the article with third parties other than the relevant author(s), editor, or referees.
  • They should not use any data belonging to an article whose evaluation has been completed but not yet published.
  • Reviewers are obliged to notify the editor when they detect unethical situations related to the study.
Responsibilities of the Editors
  • They must be diligent throughout the publication process.
  • Confidentiality must be observed throughout the publication process.
  • They should select peer reviewers appropriate to the subject of the article for the evaluation of the manuscript.
  • They should not use unpublished material related to the article in their own work without the express permission of the author.
  • They should take necessary precautions to avoid conflicts of interest between author(s) and reviewers.
  • They should respond accurately and informatively to complaints from author(s) and reviewers.
