Social Responsibility of Education Faculties and the Lessons of Community Service Practices: A Qualitative Study

Today, responsible individuals and organizations are considered important. In this sense, social responsibilities have recently been one of the most highlighted topics. The purpose of the present study is to assess community service practices lessons at faculties of education, within the scope of their social responsibilities. To this end, first the term social responsibility is explained and handled in terms of educational organizations. Then, social responsibilities of faculties of education are discussed and possible studies in community service practices lessons are assessed in this context. Finally, determine the opinions of instructors, and prospective teachers about the Lessons of Community Service Practices. Data was collected by semi-structured interview form. Descriptive analysis technique is used for data analysis. The research group consists of 20 instructor, and 39 prospective teachers. Generally, the participants said that the Lessons of Community Service Practices very useful lesson in ideally; however there are problems with implementation and planning of lesson. According to participants, Lessons of Community Service Practices to be more effective, the teacher candidates' interests must be taken into consideration.

Eğitim Fakültelerinin Sosyal Sorumluluğu Ve Topluma Hizmet Uygulamaları Dersi: Nitel Bir Araştırma

Günümüzde hem bireylerin hem de örgütlerin sorumluluk sahibi olmalarına çok önem verilmektedir. Bu anlamda sosyal sorumluluklar son yıllarda üzerinde en çok durulan konulardan biridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı eğitim fakültelerinin sosyal sorumlulukları kapsamında topluma hizmet uygulamaları (THU) dersinin değerlendirilmesidir. Bu amaçla ilk önce sosyal sorumluluk kavramı açıklanmış ve eğitim örgütleri açısından ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra eğitim fakültelerinin sosyal sorumlulukları irdelenmiş ve bu kapsamda THU Dersinde yapılabilecek çalışmalar değerlendirilmiştir. Son olarak, öğretim elemanlarının ve öğretmen adaylarının THU Dersi ile ilgili görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Analizlerde betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunda 20 öğretim elemanı ve 39 öğretmen adayı bulunmaktadır. Katılımcılar genel olarak THU Dersinin idealde çok yararlı bir ders olduğunu, ancak uygulama ve planlama ile ilgili sorunlar olduğunu belirtmiştir. Katılımcılara göre, THU Dersinin daha etkili olabilmesi için, öğretmen adaylarının ilgilerinin göz önünde bulundurulması gerekmektedir.
