Developing the Professional Competence Scale of Recreation Expert in Turkey

Öz

The purpose of the research sought to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool for measuring basic competences of a recreation expert. The target population of the study comprised undergraduate students receiving education in recreation undergraduate programs in the 2020-2021 academic year. We reached (418) undergraduate students via the convenience sampling technic. In order to determine the validity of the scale we conducted the content validity, construct validity, convergent validity and the divergent validity analyses. For the scale reliability we used the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, total item correlation and the test-retest technic. CFA analysis was used to test the scale's accuracy and it was determined that the fit values were within the reference values. As a consequence we defined five dimensions (management, activity management, enterprise management, leadership and equipment and competence) in relation to the professional competence of recreation experts and developed a measurement tool determining the professional competence of recreation experts in a valid and reliable way.

Türkiye’de Rekreasyon Uzmanlarına İlişkin Mesleki Yeterlilik Ölçeğinin Geliştirilmesi

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı, rekreasyon uzmanının sahip olması gereken temel yeterlilikleri ölçmek için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı geliştirmektir. Araştırmanın evrenini rekreasyon lisans programlarının 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında öğrenim gören lisans öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Kolayda örnekleme tekniği ile (418) lisans öğrencisine ulaşılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerliği belirlemek için içerik geçerliği, yapı geçerliği, yakınsak geçerlik ve ıraksak geçerlik analizleri yapılmıştır. Ölçek güvenirliği için Cronbach’s Alpha katsayısı, madde toplam korelasyonu ve test tekrar test tekniği kullanılmıştır. Ölçek doğruluğunun sınanması amacıyla DFA analizi kullanılmış ve uyum değerlerinin referans değerler aralığında olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak rekreasyon uzmanının mesleki yeterliliği ile ilgili beş boyut (yönetim, etkinlik yönetimi, işletme yönetimi, liderlik ve donanım ve yetkinlik) tanımlanmış ve rekreasyon uzmanının mesleki yeterliliğini geçerli ve güvenilir olarak belirleyebilen bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir.
