A bibliometric analysis of blockchain and cryptocurrencies: The period of 2015-2020

Öz

Digitalization brings current concepts and technologies to humanity day by day. These technologies generally facilitate people's daily lives. Blockchain is one of these technologies. As a current technology, the advantages and disadvantages of blockchain are still unclear. While this is the technology of the future according to some experts, according to other experts this process is a dangerous thing that compromises privacy. Cryptocurrencies are the most important part of this system. In this study, a systematic bibliometric analysis has been implemented on the blockchain and cryptocurrencies, which are becoming increasingly common in the world technology system. The analysis is applied to the field of social sciences through the Web of Science (WoS) database, which is one of the most widely utilized databases in the world of science. The obtained data were visualized with the Vosviewer software with bibliometric network and connection. In this way, the article will guide researchers who study cryptocurrency and blockchain issues in the field of social sciences.

Blok zincir ve kripto para konularının bibliyometrik bir analizi: 2015-2020 Dönemi

Öz

Dijitalleşme gün geçtikçe insanlığa güncel kavramlar ve teknolojiler kazandırmaktadır. Bu teknolojiler genellikle insanların günlük hayatlarını kolaylaştırıcı bir etki göstermektedir. Blok zincir bu teknolojilerden bir tanesidir. Güncel bir teknoloji olan, blok zincirin avantaj ve dezavantajları hala belirsizliğini korumaktadır. Kimi uzmana göre bu geleceğin teknolojisiyken, diğer uzmanlara göre bu işlem gizliliğini tehlikeye atan bir tehlikelidir. Kripto paralar ise bu sistemin en önemli parçasıdır. Bu çalışmada dünya teknoloji sisteminde gittikçe yaygınlaşan blok zincir ve kripto paralar üzerine sistematik bir bibliyometrik analiz yapılmıştır. Analiz, bilim dünyasında en çok kullanılan veri tabanlarından biri olan Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanı üzerinden sosyal bilimler alanına yönelik olarak yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, Vosviewer yazılımı ile bibliyometrik ağ ve bağlantı ile görselleştirilmiştir. Bu sayede bu makale sosyal bilimler alanında kripto para ve blok zincir teknolojisinin hangi alanlarda çalışıldığı araştırmacılara yol gösterici niteliği taşıyacaktır.
