The Validity and Reliability Study of the Turkish Adaptation of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire-Middle School

Öz

The purpose of this study was to adaptation of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire- Middle School Turkish form. This instrument is used to determine the achievement emotions of the students towards the mathematics. Explatory and confirmatory factor analysis within the scope of validity studies and test-retest and Cronbach alpha reliability coefficients were calculated within the scope of reliability studies. Reliability coefficients for the sub-scales, boredom, enjoyment, and anxiety sub-dimensions were calculated as .94, .91 and .92, respectively. The adapted instrument has preserved the same structure in its original form. The index values gathered from the confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the structure emerging from the exploratory factor analysis showed a good level of fit. The adapted scale consists of 28 items and is in 5-point Likert type. These results show that the Turkish version of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire-Middle School is valid and reliable.

Başarı Duygusu Ölçeği-Ortaokul Türkçe Formu: Geçerlik ve Güvenilirlik Çalışması

Öz

Bu araştırma Başarı Duygusu Ölçeği-Ortaokul Türkçe formunun geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmasının yapılmasını amaçlamaktadır. Bu ölçek öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik başarı duygularını incelemek amacıyla kullanılmaktadır. Geçerlik çalışmaları kapsamında açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile güvenirlik çalışması kapsamında test-tekrar test ve Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayıları hesabı yapılmıştır. Uyarlanan ölçeğin genel boyutunda yer alan sıkılma, mutluluk ve kaygı alt boyutları için güvenirlik katsayıları sırasıyla .94, .91 ve .92 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Uyarlama çalışması yapılan ölçek özgün haliyle aynı yapıyı korumuştur. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizinden elde edilen indeks değerleri açımlayıcı faktör analizinden ortaya çıkan yapının iyi düzeyde uyum gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Uyarlanan ölçek 28 maddeden oluşmaktadır ve 5’li Likert tipindedir. Ölçek mutluluk, sıkılma ve kaygı olmak üzere üç alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Bu sonuçlar, Başarı Duygusu Ölçeği-Ortaokul’un Türkçe formunun geçerli ve güvenilir olduğunu göstermektedir.
