THE DOCUMENT ANALYSIS OF GRADUATE THESES ON THE SUBJECT OF THREEDIMENSIONAL VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENTS IN TURKEY

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the postgraduate theses on the subject of three-dimensional virtual environments, which is one of the outputs of rapid developments in the field of information technologies, software industry, and communication on the field of education, based on their demographic characteristics, research topics, research methodology, findings section, discussion and conclusion section, and suggestions section. The method of this research is document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. The study documents of the research consist of 15 postgraduate theses, 11 master’s, and 4 doctoral theses, which were published in the National Thesis Center of Turkey between January 2010 and August 2020 on the subject of three-dimensional virtual environments. Analytical themes were also used in the analysis of the data obtained in the study in relation to descriptive analysis and descriptive themes obtained as a result of the deductive analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that there were a small number of postgraduate theses on three-dimensional virtual environments in the field of education.
