Yabancı Dil Sözcük Öğreniminin Çoklu Ortam Cep Telefonu İletileri ile Desteklenmesi

Öz

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı son yıllarda kullanımı oldukça yaygınlaşan cep telefonlarının öğretimortamlarında kullanımının etkililiğini araştırmaktır. Öğrencilerin cep telefonlarına gönderilen çoklu ortam iletileri sözcüklerinanlamlarını, telaffuzlarını, örnek cümleleri ve sözcüklerin akılda kalmasını kolaylaştırıcı örnek cümle ile ilgili görselanlatımları içermiştir. Daha sonra öğrencilerin sözcükleri öğrenip öğrenmediğini değerlendirmek için etkileşimli SMSsoruları gönderilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin süreç öncesi ve sonrasında motivasyonları ve tutumları araştırılmıştır. Verilerinanalizi sonucu elde edilen bulgular çoklu ortam iletilerinin ve SMS kısa sınavların öğrencilerin İngilizce sözcükkazanımlarına istatistiksel olarak anlamlı katkı sağladığını göstermiştir. Ayrıca öğrenciler cep telefonlarının İngilizce sözcüköğrenme sürecinde kullanımını çok olumlu karşılamışlar ve böyle bir uygulamanın İngilizce hazırlık okullarında kullanımınınfaydalı olacağı görüşünü belirtmişlerdir. Bulgular ışığında, cep telefonlarının eğitim ortamlarında, özellikle de İngilizcehazırlık okullarında, kullanılmasına yönelik öneriler yapılmıştır
