Digital Reconstruction of Mesopotamian Cultural Heritage in the Metaverse: AI-Powered Modeling and Quantum-Based Data Security

This study presents a transformative model for the cultural heritage of Anatolian Mesopotamia through the opportunities offered by digital technologies. Considering the challenges faced by traditional conservation and exhibition methods in archaeologically rich regions such as Göbeklitepe, Mardin, and Diyarbakır, a conceptual model integrating Metaverse, Artificial Intelligence, and Quantum Computing technologies is proposed. The model focuses on creating high-fidelity digital twins of historical sites using LIDAR and photogrammetry data and integrating them into a virtual environment. This approach aims to provide users with an interactive and cognitively engaging learning experience based on archaeological data, while AI enhances the experience through personalized guidance and archaeometric data modeling. Furthermore, quantum cryptography and Quantum Key Distribution constitute a critical component of the model, offering theoretically high-level security for sensitive digital cultural heritage data against emerging cybersecurity threats. Based on a systematic literature review, this study proposes a comprehensive model that addresses gaps in technological integration and data security and provides a robust and sustainable foundation for future research.
