ANALYSIS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHING STUDENTS’ READINESS TO THE GEOGRAPHY LESSON

Öz

Analysis of Department of Primary School Teaching students’ readiness related to the geography lesson creates the purpose of this study. Research’s working group includes 96 students studying in Department of Primary School Teaching. Qualitative research methodology has been used in the research and data collection tool is 8-question open ended question form developed by researchers. It has been precipitated that facts which take place in the definition of geography reflects to the views of participants, students partly know about the province and region they live in, and possess geographical materials such as maps and atlas. According to the findings, it is necessary to improve students’ cognitive and affective readiness levels, provide students to know the world starting from the immediate surroundings and improve their scientific points of views.
