About
Lectio Socialis is an international, open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal of political science, published under the editorial leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Konuralp. It offers a scholar-led platform for high-quality, English-language research and upholds high standards of academic integrity through a rigorous peer-review process conducted by experts in the field.
The journal is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and, since 2024, in TR-Dizin, reflecting its academic visibility and credibility. On 13 March 2021, Lectio Socialis signed the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), affirming its commitment to fair, transparent, and responsible research evaluation.
From 2026, Lectio Socialis focuses specifically on political science. Having previously published more broadly across the social sciences, the journal now concentrates on transformative political inquiry — rigorous, evidence-based scholarship on power, governance, institutions, and political behavior — and serves researchers, policymakers, and students alike. It welcomes both monodisciplinary and interdisciplinary submissions that engage diverse theories and methods to address complex political and societal questions.
Key thematic areas include political economy and social equity; state–society relations; democratization and civil society; inclusive governance, public policy, and multilevel governance; agenda-setting; the politics of migration; gender politics; and environmental governance and the politics of climate change.
The journal’s editorial board, as well as its reviewers, comprise scholars from national and international institutions. All editorial, review, and production processes are carried out on a voluntary basis, reflecting the contributors’ commitment to advancing scholarly knowledge.
In keeping with its open-access philosophy, Lectio Socialis provides free and unrestricted access to all of its content under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence and charges authors no fees for submission or publication, ensuring that financial constraints do not limit the dissemination of high-quality research.
Since 2021, each article has been assigned a DOI under the sponsorship of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and registered with Crossref, increasing the discoverability and citation potential of the journal’s content.
Lectio Socialis moved to a digital-only format in July 2022, retaining only its e-ISSN (2602-2443). In 2026, the journal adopted a continuous-publication model in which the year replaces volume numbers: accepted articles are published promptly throughout the year and gathered into a single compiled issue each December.
