Okul Öncesi Dönem Çocuğu olan Annelerin Ebeveyn Tutumlarının Annelik Bekçiliği Davranışları ile İlişkisinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Annelerin ebeveynlik tutumları ile sergiledikleri annelik bekçilikleri davranışları arasındaki ilişkinin incelendiği bu çalışma, nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel araştırma deseninde yürütülmüştür. Okul öncesi dönemde (3-6 yaş) çocuğu olan, çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü 211 anne çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Bulgular, annelik bekçiliği ile demokratik tutum arasında negatif yönlü bir ilişki olduğunu gösterirken otoriter ve aşırı koruyucu ebeveynlik tutumları arasında ise pozitif yönlü ilişki olduğunu göstermiştir. Demokratik tutumun sadece anne yaşına göre farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Aşırı koruyucu tutum, çocuğun okula başlama yaşı, anne ve baba eğitim düzeyi ve çalışma durumlarına göre farklılaşmaktadır. Ayrıca izin verici tutumun çocuğun okula başlama yaşı ve baba eğitim düzeyine göre farklılaştığı da bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Sonuç olarak farklı ebeveynlik tutumları ile annelik bekçiliği davranışları arasında ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Annelerin eğitim seviyesinin ebeveynlik tutumları ve bekçilik davranışlarının en önemli yordayıcılarından biri olduğu belirlenmiştir.

A study on the Relationship between Parental Attitudes and Maternal Gatekeeping Behaviors of Mothers with Preschool Children

Öz

This study, which examined the relationship between mothers' parenting attitudes and their maternal gatekeeping behaviours, was conducted in a relational research design, one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consisted of 211 mothers with preschool children (3-6 years old) who volunteered to participate in the study. The findings showed that there was a negative relationship between maternal gatekeeping and democratic attitude, while there was a positive relationship between authoritarian and overprotective parenting attitudes. It was observed that democratic attitude differed only according to the age of the mother. Overprotective attitudes differed according to the child's school starting age, mother and father's education level and employment status. It was also found that permissive attitude differed according to the age of the child starting school and father's education level (p<0.05). As a result, a relationship was found between different parenting attitudes and maternal gatekeeping behaviours. Mothers' level of education was found to be one of the most important predictors of parenting attitudes and gatekeeping behaviors.
