He was born in 1971 in Ankara. He received his bachelor's degree from Middle East Technical University, Department of Physical Education and Sports in 1993. He worked as a physical education teacher in different cities between 1994-1999. He was in the United States for education between 2000-2007. He completed his higher relations and doctorate in Physical Education, Sports Pedagogy and Sports Psychology at Texas A&M University. He was a physical education teacher and coordinator at Texas-Hearne Elementary School between 2004-2007. He has been working as a faculty member at Pamukkale University, Faculty of Sport Sciences since 2007. He has held administrative positions such as school director, department head and assistant dean. He was the founding director of Pamukkale University, Faculty of Sport Sciences, which was established in 2014. He served as the dean of this faculty between 2016 and 2020. In 2024, he was reassigned to Pamukkale University Faculty of Sports Sciences and he still continues to serve in this position. He teaches undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses such as sports psychology, motivational approaches, physical education and game teaching, sports skills, psychomotor learning, statistics. He has dozens of national and international research articles. He has written national and international books and book chapters on physical education, sports psychology and especially motivation. He has been an instructor in referee and coaching courses and seminars of federations such as Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Swimming and Folk Dances. He has been a session chairman, a guest and made research presentations at national and international congresses.
Dr. Aspasia Dania (PhD), is an Assistant Professor and a Director of the Sport Pedagogy Laboratory at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She lectures at a Doctoral, Master and Undergraduate level in the topics of Pedagogy, Physical Education Teacher Education and Qualitative Research, all with a focus on equity, democracy, diversity, and inclusion.
Dr Dania is highly experienced in curriculum planning, and instructional alignment and has developed and implemented successfully an extensive record of Blended Intensive Programs and Online Learning Modules by using a variety of instructional design tools and approaches (e.g., MOODLE systems. Micro-credential approaches).
Her research interests focus on: (1) Physical Education Teacher Education; (2) Initial, induction and continuous professional development of teachers; (3) Use of qualitative and post-qualitative methods in education; (4) Game and Play-Based approaches in education; (5) Social and Emotional learning of children and youth; (6) Social Pedagogy with a focus on Social Justice; (7) Transdisciplinary/Interdisciplinary Instruction and Curriculum Development.
Dr. Laura Healy is an Associate Professor of Sport & Exercise Psychology. She researches in areas associated with motivation, goal pursuit, and mental health/well-being across the sport and physical activity spectrum. She has published 21 peer-reviewed papers and has attracted external grant funding of around £116k (£48k as PI). Dr. Healy supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research in areas related to sport and exercise psychology, and teaches on the BSc Sport and Exercise Science and Sport Science MRes programmes.

Prof. Dr. Dilşad Çoknaz conducts research in the field of sports management.
Residing within the Department of Health & Wellness Design under the umbrella of the Indiana University School of Public Health –Bloomington as an Associate Professor, Dr. Ramos’ research is focused on examining the impact of both built and natural aquatic environments on the human experience. In addition, he also engages in the legal aspects of aquatics in the role of expert consultant. His educational preparation includes a Ph.D. in Leisure Behavior with a minor in Law from Indiana University.
Behind his research is over 30 years of practitioner experience in the field of aquatic management stretching from conventional pools and waterfronts to today’s modern waterparks. His insider exposure to the field of aquatic management has provided the impetus for research questions surrounding issues such as drowning prevention, physical activity, safe engagement, and recreational water illnesses.
Work on drowning prevention has connected him with projects throughout the United States, as well as several countries within Africa, and most recently Vietnam. Dr. Ramos’ current service contributions to the field include appointments to the board of The ZAC foundation, and American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council as well as a role on the United States Water Safety Action Planning Committee.
