Öz

Career planning refers to the process by which individuals identify their professional goals and systematically organize the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to achieve them. Career management, in turn, involves actively directing one’s career development, adapting to changing labor market conditions, and constructing a sustainable professional identity. Particularly in higher education, students’ attitudes toward career planning and career management play a significant role in professional adaptation, career success, and long-term job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the career planning processes and career management attitudes of gastronomy students. A qualitative research design was adopted, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis to identify recurring themes and patterns related to students’ career perceptions and attitudes. The findings reveal that gastronomy students perceive career planning primarily as a structured pathway to professional success. In terms of career management, participants emphasize opportunities for career advancement and upward mobility as central considerations in their professional development. The results suggest that proactive career planning and self-directed career management approaches contribute to shaping adaptive and goal-oriented career trajectories among gastronomy students. These findings provide insights for higher education institutions and industry stakeholders in supporting students’ career development processes within competitive and dynamic labor markets
