Adnan Menderes University Institute of Social Sciences Journal’s main purpose is to contribute to the social sciences at the national and international level, to create a respected academic ground where scientists working in this field can share the unique and remarkable works.

Our journal is a refereed, scientific electronic journal published by Adnan Menderes University Institute of Social Sciences at least twice a year. It can also be published as a “Special Issue” upon the decision of the editorial board. The writing language of the journal is Turkish and English. The journal includes applied and institutional studies, models and suggestions, analysis and evaluations, quantitative and qualitative research in all areas of social sciences.

Assessment Process
After a preliminary assessment by our editorial board, the article will be reviewed if they fit the journal's general editorial policy and purpose. The board will decide to publish the article after consulting at least two reviewers. The review process takes one month. A new reviewer will be appointed if the current reviewer do not respond within a month.
Open access policy
With the belief that providing scientific research to the public for free increases global circulation of knowledge, this journal provides open access to its content.

Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences is a biannual, peer-reviewed national publication.
General
• The articles, sent to the Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences must be unpublished or must not be sent to another journal for publication.
• Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences publishes research in social sciences, original compilations, short papers, translations and letters to the editor in Turkish and English.
• Works with good spelling and writing will be checked for plagiarism. Our journal uses iThenticate program to check for plagiarism and we look for similarity levels that do not exceed 25%.
• If the work is supported by an institution/organization or is a master's thesis/doctoral dissertation, this needs to be declared at the bottom the first page.
• At a time, a person can author only one paper as the main author and only co-author two papers.
• All liability of the article belongs to the author(s).
• If an author retracts their work twice after the review process, their work will not be published in the journal in future.
• Articles that do not fit the rules in the guide for authors and journal publication policy will not be assessed.
• All publication rights of accepted and published articles belong to Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences.
• The articles must meet proper spelling and grammar rules.
Page Layout and Style
• The article must be written on an A4 sheet (210 x 297 mm) with 3.7 cm top and bottom, 3.5 cm left, and 3 cm right margin. 
• The work should include a title, author(s) name(s), abstract, keywords, text, bibliography and appendix sections. 
• In order to expedite typesetting and correction processes, the article should:
• be written in MS Office Word program; 
• use Times New Roman font;
• have 9 pt font size for abstract and 11 pt for the text, 
• be justified,
• have a single line spacing
• and 6 pt indentation, 
• not exceed 25 pages including references and bibliography, and 
• have page numbers on the bottom right corner.
• Main titles and sub-headings must be numbered. (1. Introduction, 2. Material And Method, 2.1. Results and Discussion etc.).
• The titles must be at the beginning of the section and capitalized. All titles must be bold. A line of space must be left before the titles.
• Our journal uses APA standard for citations and references. If necessary, footnotes will be placed at the bottom of the page and numbered (1, 2, 3 and so on).
Tables, Charts and Figures
• All images other than charts (photos, drawings, diagrams, graphs, maps etc.) has to be named "figure" and numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2 and so on).
• All charts and figures must be placed appropriately, include a description and have leading and trailing blank lines.
• The figures and charts can be presented in two columns. Their width must not exceed 15 cm in single and 7.5 cm in double columns.
• Names of figures must be placed below the material for figures and above the content for charts and tables. The names must be capitalized and in sized 9 pt.
• The contents and descriptions of charts, tables and figures must be in 9 pt font size.
First Page
• The page must include the title which summarizes the topic in Turkish and English. The title must be capitalized, centered, bold and sized 12 pts.
• After a blank line, author names must be written in 9 pt and they must be capitalized.
• The author names must be centered and must not include titles (e.g. Dr., Prof. etc.).
• Last names of the author(s) must be in all capital letters.
• Titles and addresses of author(s) must be given in the footnotes and separated with a comma (,).
• If the article was presented in a scientific meeting such as symposium, convention etc., the name, date and place of the event must be given in the footnote. The footnotes must be numbered (1, 2, 3 and so on).
• The abstract must not exceed 250 words, sized 9 pt and be single-spaced. The titles of the abstract must also be 9pt, bold and aligned to left.
• The Turkish articles must include English, and the English articles must include their Turkish titles above the corresponding abstract.
• Keywords must not exceed six words and must be provided in both languages.
At least three (3) JEL (Journal of Economic Literature) classification codes should be written on the two-digit level (eg Q11) in the submitted manuscripts. For JEL classifications that should be selected according to the topic of the manuscript, please refer to http://www.aeaweb.org/journal/jel_class_system.php .
References and Bibliography
• In-text citations must be given as author, year and page number format (e.g.: Genç. 2007: 38).
• For works with three or more authors, the citation should have "vd." in Turkish and "et al." in English.
• If more than one reference is given in the same part, the sources must be chronologically ordered. If more than one work of an author, published in the same year, is referenced, letters (a, b, c and so on) should be added to the years in citations.
• If a whole work is referenced, the work can be cited as (Genç, 2010).
• Bibliography must be placed at the end of the article and must be prepared in accordance with the relevant standard. All references must be listed alphabetically under "Bibliography" section, have single line space and sized 11 pt.
• The last names of authors must be all capitalized in the bibliography section. All words must be capitalized. The references are listed alphabetically according to last names.
• Date of access for internet sources must not be older than six months before the work is sent to the journal.
Article checklist
• The authors must check their work for the following conditions. The articles that do not meet these criteria will be rejected.
• The work has not been published in another publication or sent for publication to another publication (or proper statement is made in the Notes to Editor section).
• The file is in one of OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect compatible formats. Please make sure that the article does not contain personal or identifying information about the author(s).
• Links for the references have been provided for all available sources. All figures, images and tables were placed in-text instead of the appendix. To ensure high print quality, please append high-resolution versions of images to the email.
• The system may not accept the file if it is too large. If this happens, you can split the file into multiple parts and send them as additional files.
• Author names and any identifying information must be deleted before sending the work to a peer-reviewed journal. 
Copyright notice
• The author(s) hereby accept that the Editorial Board of Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences (ADUSOBED) do not accept any responsibility for the content, results or comments of the article.
• I (we) guarantee that the work is original; has not been sent to any other journal for publication; and if the work was published in part or as a whole before, all necessary permissions have been taken and the original copy of copyright form has been sent to the Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences Editors (ADUSOBED).
• I (we) undertake and agree to waive any copyrights arising from the article. The copyrights of this article are hereby transferred to the Adnan Menderes University's Journal of Institute of Social Sciences. The Editorial Board is authorized to publish the article. 1. All registered rights such as patent excluding copyright.

Scientific Research Ethics

Scientific methods are used in obtaining, analyzing, interpreting and reaching the data. Non-scientific results cannot be used as research results.

Author(s) must adhere to the national and international agreements during the research period and must obtain permission from the competent authorities.

The data obtained in the studies must be used in the manner/form permitted by the authorities. It is essential that data, which must not be shared, remain confidential.

Researchers are obliged to inform the relevant persons and institutions about the problems that may occur after research is done. Each researcher has the right not to participate in research due to these unintended consequences.



Publication Ethics

Persons who do not contribute to the study during scientific research and writing should not be cited as authors.

The author(s) must avoid situations such as irresponsible authorship, plagiarism, junk science, multicasting, segmentally publications, biased source, biased publication, and human-animal ethics.

The author(s) must follow the citation system stated in the journal during the writing phase of the manuscript.

Unpublished or un-presented works should not be cited in the manuscripts.

All or part of any work cannot be published without permission or citation (plagiarism is not allowed).

The author(s), if any, must state the financial sources of the study.



Referee Ethics

Referee(s);

· must be experts in the fields of subjects of the manuscript.

· is (are) obliged to objectively and clearly his/her criticism. He/she must not act in accordance with his / her personal interests / opinions and, if necessary, refuse to act as a referee.

· should take into consideration the texts are personal during the evaluation process and should not share the texts with third parties.

· should not transfer information from the manuscript for their own work and should not seek any academic / personal interest.

· should provide clear and detailed reasons for the articles to be rejected.

· should also take into account the journal's scientific research and publication ethic rules.



Editorial Ethics

Editor (s):

· is obliged to appoint at least two referees appropriate to the subject of the candidate manuscripts.

· must ensure communication between the referee(s) and the author in charge, taking into account the blind review process.

· must maintain their relations in a transparent and objective manner without discrimination between any authors and referees.

· must not use their position for their own individual and academic interests.

· must provide clear and detailed justifications for the manuscripts they will reject.

· must also consider scientific research, publication and review ethics.
