Authors wishing to submit to the Journal of Academic History and Research (ATAD) must prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the principles below, the journal's Writing Guidelines and the 📝 HAKEMLERE CEVAP DOSYASI . Manuscripts that do not comply are returned to the author at the screening stage.
Submission requirements
- Submissions must be original, unpublished and not under consideration by another journal.
- Conference papers whose full text has not been published may be submitted, provided this is stated in a footnote on the first page.
- If the manuscript partly overlaps with an earlier publication by the author, this must be declared and the earlier work uploaded to the system.
- For articles derived from a graduate thesis, the title, type, institution and year of the thesis must be given in a footnote on the first page.
- An author may have no more than one manuscript under review in the journal at a time.

The English title, abstract and extended summary must be written in fluent academic English. Texts that do not meet this standard are returned to the author for language editing.
Authorship and changes to authorship
- Authorship is limited to those who have made a substantial scholarly contribution. For multi-authored articles, each author's contribution is stated on the title page.
- Adding, removing or reordering authors after submission requires a reasoned request and the written consent of all authors. Such requests are subject to the editor's approval and are not accepted after the article has been accepted.
- All correspondence during review is conducted through the corresponding author.
Review and publication
- Manuscripts undergo editorial screening, a similarity check and double-blind peer review.
- A request for revision does not mean the manuscript will be published.
- Revisions must be uploaded together with the Response to Reviewers file and the Marked-up Full Text. If this deadline is missed, the manuscript is treated as a new submission.
- Proofs of accepted articles are sent to the corresponding author, who must check and approve them within 5 days. Only typesetting errors may be corrected at this stage; content may not be changed.
- Approved articles are published online with a DOI and added to the relevant issue.
Responsibility, licensing and fees
- Authors bear full scholarly, ethical and legal responsibility for their articles. The views expressed do not reflect those of the journal, its editors or the Editorial Board.
- Authors retain the copyright of their articles, which are published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
- The journal charges authors no fees at any stage and pays no royalties for published articles.
