Rakipoğlu completed his PhD in Middle Eastern Studies at the Middle East Institute of Sakarya University in 2023. He has worked as a researcher and consultant at several think tanks and served as a researcher in a project supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. As part of his fieldwork and language training activities, he has spent time in various parts of the Middle East. He has authored numerous commentaries, analyses, and reports for national and international media outlets and think tanks.

Rakipoğlu has an advanced command of English and an intermediate command of Arabic. His research interests include Gulf politics, Palestinian politics, religion and politics, hedging theory, and Islamic movements. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Mardin Artuklu University and conducts postdoctoral research on Palestine at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter.
