Aim & Scope

Bartın University Journal of Educational Research (BUJER) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access electronic scientific journal. 

BUJER strives to provide a platform for research that makes meaningful contributions to educational policies, practices, and professional development across diverse educational settings. The journal seeks to bridge theory and practice by presenting interdisciplinary studies that:

  • Contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning practices, both locally and globally.
  • Support the integration of technology into educational environments.
  • Address contemporary challenges in education through rigorous research methods.
  • Enhance the professional development of educators, including preservice teachers, through scholarly inquiry.

Manuscripts languages= English (with an abstract in Turkish) or Turkish  (with an extended abstract in English) 

Publication frequency= Twice a year (June and December)

First issue= 2017

Publication fee= Free of charge (open-access)

A) BUJER prioritizes manuscripts that:

  1. Contribute to the development of new educational models, assessment tools, or interdisciplinary research designs,
  2. Effectively bridge theory and practice through rigorous scientific methods,
  3. Provide in-depth examinations of local policies, programs, or innovations from an international perspective,
  4. Utilize a multidisciplinary approaches,
  5. Integrate technology into learning environments,
  6. Develop or test the usability of educational measurement tools,
  7. Enhance educational practices through technology integration,
  8. Propose or evaluate new educational models, either theoretical or applied,
  9. Support the professional development of teachers or preservice teachers.

B) BUJER may not accept manuscripts that:

  1. Are unrelated to learning, teaching, or education,
  2. Contain significant language issues affecting clarity, accuracy, or coherence in English,
  3. Are solely literature reviews (excluding rigorous systematic reviews), book reviews, or conceptual papers,
  4. Present quantitative studies with only one independent variable (e.g., the effect of A on B),
  5. Lack robust data collection methods or rely solely on demographic data from an insufficient number of participants,
  6. Do not engage with recent literature,
  7. Fail to clearly explain the study's background, significance, or contribution to the field.
