The purpose of Journal of Children's Literature and Education is to contribute to creating the literature in children’s literature, literature education, and language education, is to develop current literature,


In the mentioned fields, is make to visible the publications of academicians, is create a platform where researchers can follow new developments in the field, to present a perspective to the child and adult reader by including the introduction and criticism of a fictional children's book in each issue.

Journal of Children's Literature and Education is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original scientific articles and book reviews/criticisms in the fields of children's literature and language education. The journal's language, which started its publication in May 2018, is English and Turkish.

The journal is published twice a year, in June and December. However, an article-based publication policy is followed during the publication process. Thus, the accepted studies are published without waiting.

When submitting articles or book reviews to Journal of Children's Literature and Education, authors should take into account the "Publication Template of Journal of Children's Literature and Language Education". The journal writing rules are also included in the template.

Publication Ethics

Journal of Children’s Literature and Education is a peer-reviewed journal published in accordance with the ethical principles and rules stated below in order to publish scientific articles in the fields of children's literature, literature education and language education. Articles submitted to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process. The articles accepted at the end of the evaluation are published electronically with open access
Publishers, editors, authors, referees and readers who are part of Journal of Children’s Literature and Education are required to comply with the ethical principles and guidelines specified by the Publication Ethics Committee. In this context, information on the responsibilities of the components of Journal of Children’s Literature and Education is given below.

Editorial Board Responsibilities of Journal of Children’s Literature and Education

1. The Editorial Board is responsible for every article submitted to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education, and the members know this responsibility. Ignorance of personal gains and independent decision making is the basis of this responsibility. The relationship between the publisher and the Editorial Board is based on the principle of independence, all decisions taken by the editors are independent of the publisher and other individuals and organizations.
2. The main purpose of the Editorial Board of Journal of Children’s Literature and Education is to continuously improve the journal and help increase its publication qualities.
3. The Editorial Board is responsible for determining and implementing journal policies such as the blind peer review process, the determination of ethical principles, and the publication of articles.
4. The Editorial Board is responsible for protecting the copyright of the authors of the articles published in the Journal.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors, Assistant Editors and Field Editors
1. Editors take care to give feedback on the manuscripts when necessary, at the request of the referees, authors, researchers and readers.
2. Editors take care to make corrections in the publication process of a study and to make objective comments on matters that require clarification.
3. Editors take care to publish original articles and manuscripts that will contribute to the scientific literature.
4. The editors accept the articles in the evaluation process as long as the manuscripts submitted to the journal do not have a significant problem.
5. Editors have the right to reject the works that cannot contribute to the scientific literature, are not original or do not fall within the scope of the journal, on behalf of the Editorial Board at the preliminary evaluation stage.
6. Editors are based on the opinions of the referees regarding the manuscripts included in the evaluation process and do not change the decisions made by the referee and field editors unless there are serious problems in the study.
7. Editors pay attention to the policies regarding blind refereeing and the evaluation process, do not disclose referee information in any way and take care to evaluate the manuscripts in an unbiased manner.
8. The editors ensure that the refereeing process is carried out in a wide range by constantly effort to expand the referee list of the journal.
9. Editors do not take into account reviews written on non-scientific basis and referee reviews that do not comply with academic etiquette.
10. Editors communicate effectively with everyone involved in the publication process of the journal and organize regular meetings.
11. Editors pay attention to the protection of personal data in the articles in the journal.
12. Editors pay attention to the protection of human rights in the articles sent to the journal.
13. The editors reject the relevant study at the points where the article requires ethics committee approval or experimental research permission, but these documents are not sent to the journal.
14. Editors pay attention to the correction of errors or inconsistencies in articles.
15. Editors take into account the criticisms of a published article and give the author/authors of the criticized article the right to reply.
16. The editors examine the complaints and requests addressed to the journal and make the necessary explanations.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

In the evaluation process of the articles sent to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education, the principle of double-blind refereeing is applied, in which the authors do not know the referees and the referees do not know the authors. The referees who will evaluate the articles sent to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education should pay attention to the following ethical responsibilities:
1. Reviewers are required to agree to evaluate only manuscripts related to their area of expertise.
2. Reviewers are required to evaluate the article with impartiality and confidentiality.
3. Reviewers are required to delete the works they evaluate after the completion of the evaluation process.
4. If reviewers understand that there is a conflict of interest or unity of interest related to the article they evaluated, they should refuse to evaluate the article and inform the editors.
5. Reviewers are required to comply with academic etiquette, use constructive language and not make personal comments while evaluating articles.
6. Reviewers are required to review the works they accept to be evaluated within the evaluation period.
7. Reviewers are required to answer the article evaluation request within 7 days and complete the accepted evaluations within 15 days.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors applying for articles to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education should pay attention to the following ethical responsibilities:

1. Authors should not send a work published in another journal or sent for publication to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education.
2. Authors should submit only their original articles to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education.
3. Authors are obliged to fill in the Copyright Form of Journal of Children’s Literature and Education completely and upload it to the system.
4. Authors should correctly cite the sources they used while writing the articles they sent to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education.
5. Researchers who do not contribute to the article in the manuscripts sent to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education should not be written as authors.
6. Researchers who have a conflict of interest in an article sent to Journal of Children’s Literature and Education should be notified to the editors.
7. During the evaluation of the article, information or first data about the study can be requested from the authors by the Field Editors on behalf of the Editorial Board. In case of requested information, the authors are responsible to fulfill the relevant request
8. Authors should document the usage rights of the data in their manuscripts and the status of obtaining the necessary permissions for the study.
9. The authors are responsible to inform the editors, correct the error or withdraw the article when they notice an error in their work, regardless of the process.
10. Authors should note that they have obtained the approval of the ethical committee for the research that needs by quantitative or qualitative methods which the approval of the ethical committee is needed for the experiment, questionnaire, scope, discussion, observation, focus group study in the first and last pages and the method chapter. On the other hand, they should emphasize the taken information of consent form in their case report.
11. Authors should present the proof that they take care of the ethical principles during the period of data collection (such as getting the permission of them to use the documents like scope, questionnaire, photo). It should be noted that in the articles, such issues as the arrangement of the copyright for work of art and research and publication ethic are respected. If the research was conducted on human or animal subjects, it should be noted that the research has been completed conveniently to international notice and manual etc.
