Commagene Journal of Biology is an open access international peer-reviewed biology journal. Origin of the name comes from the Commagene Kingdom that ruled the Upper Euphrates section of Adıyaman province, Turkey about 2300 ago. “Commagene” also means the integration of genes (or tribes or clans). The mission of this kingdom was to connect the east with the west. Adıyaman province is in the place where the Mediterranean and Iranian-Turanian geographical regions meet that inspired the name of the journal. It is the publication of Adıyaman Scientific Research Association (ABADER) that was founded on June 6th, 2017 and the first issue published on December 29, 2017.
