Dear Researchers and Esteemed Authors,
The family is the fundamental building block of society and plays a critical role in the development of individuals and the shaping of social life. As family structures and dynamics are influenced by historical, cultural, and societal factors, understanding how these elements affect issues, relationships, and power balances within the family is of great importance. The declaration of 2025 as "Family Year" aims to address the concept of family from a broader perspective and to raise awareness regarding this matter.
The Journal of the Institute of Social Sciences at Dokuz Eylul University is calling for articles for the "Volume: 27 Issue: Special Issue" on the Family Year, to be published in 2025. This special issue aims to host studies that examine family structures, roles, and dynamics.
The need for research related to families is evident not only at the individual level but also at the societal level. In recent years, the healthy maintenance of intra-family relationships, gender equality, women's rights, child health, and education have gained prominence, increasing the significance of scientific studies in these areas. The preparation of the Family Year Special Issue will provide an opportunity for systematic examination and dissemination of these critical issues to society.
This special issue aims to create a significant resource by bringing together original and innovative studies that deeply investigate family dynamics, relationships, and issues. Additionally, insights from experts and contributions from various disciplines will offer contemporary perspectives on the concept of family, contributing to societal benefit.
