Post-Acceptance Process and Continuous Publishing Workflow

The Journal of Educational Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University applies the Continuous Publishing Model, which ensures that accepted manuscripts are published promptly upon the completion of production stages. An editorial decision of "Acceptance" does not imply immediate publication. A minimum of 14 days is required to complete the necessary technical and editorial production steps after the final file submission.

  1. MANDATORY POST-ACCEPTANCE PRODUCTION STEPS

A) Final Linguistic and Formal Review (Author's Responsibility) Upon acceptance, authors must complete the requested editorial revisions within 5 days and submit the final manuscript file. During this stage:

  • Grammar, citation/reference styles, and template compliance must be thoroughly checked.
  • Metadata (title, abstract, keywords, author info, ORCID) must be complete and accurate.
  • If the manuscript is derived from a thesis/dissertation, a corresponding explanatory footnote must be included.
  • Critical Note: Major content modifications (such as adding new data/findings, deleting/adding paragraphs, or extensive rewriting) are strictly prohibited without the editor's explicit approval. Otherwise, the production may be suspended, and the manuscript may be re-sent for peer review.

B) Layout and Typesetting (Journal's Responsibility) Once the author's final review is complete, the technical team formats the manuscript according to the journal layout, verifying page design, table/figure resolutions, and DOI/bibliographic metadata.

C) Proofreading and Approval (Author's Responsibility) The layout proof is sent to the author for final verification. The author must review and approve the proof within 3 days, strictly focusing on typographical or typesetting errors. Delays in approval will automatically postpone the publication date.

D) Publication Under the continuous publishing model, articles are published digitally in the order they become fully prepared and "ready for publication."

  1. KEY EDITORIAL POLICIES
  • Publication Queue: The Editorial Board reserves the right to arrange the publication schedule and sequence based on editorial requirements, such as field balance, technical readiness, or special issue planning.
  • Missing Documentation: Manuscripts with missing plagiarism (similarity) reports, ethical committee approvals, or copyright/conflict of interest forms will not be forwarded to the production stage.
  • Communication: All follow-ups and editorial correspondences must be conducted exclusively through the DergiPark messaging system. Extraneous requests to expedite the publication process will not be entertained.
