The Journal of Archaeology (ADERG), first published in 1993, is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access academic journal issued twice a year, in April and October.

The journal aims to promote and disseminate original research produced in the field of archaeology and related disciplines, and to enhance the international visibility of archaeological studies conducted in Anatolia and its neighboring regions. ADERG brings together studies with temporal, cultural, and methodological diversity, encouraging comparative, interdisciplinary, and theoretical approaches. In addition to archaeological fieldwork, it publishes innovative research in areas such as archaeological interpretation, methodology, cultural interaction, technology, environmental archaeology, and archaeometry.

The journal seeks to contribute to the advancement of archaeological science, strengthen academic exchange, and foster the universal sharing of knowledge through its open-access policy. In this context, the Journal of Archaeology aims to carry the scientific quality of archaeological research conducted in Turkey to the international stage, while maintaining an active position within contemporary global archaeological debates.

ADERG accepts articles written primarily in Turkish and English, as well as in German and French. Throughout the publication process, scientific and ethical principles are strictly observed, and all submissions are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review system.

Originality, scholarly contribution, methodological consistency, and academic integrity are the main criteria for publication. The journal maintains the highest standards of sensitivity toward unethical practices such as plagiarism, lack of citation, data falsification, and breaches of scientific responsibility.

The Journal of Archaeology does not accept advertisements and does not charge any fees for the evaluation or publication of articles. Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of the scientific quality, originality, and contribution of each study to the field of archaeology.
