IHYA Uluslararası İslam Araştırmaları Dergisi - Journal of International Islamic Studies aims to publish scientific research such as papers, book reviews and symposium reviews on religious studies and to share these studies with public. Ihya provides articles written by qualified specialists in the area of Islamic Studies (Scope: Arts and Humanities/Religion/Islamic Studies & Scope: Social and Behavioral Sciences/ Theology and Ethics). It continues to publish compelling original research articles that contribute to the development of scholarly understanding and interpretation in the history and philosophy of religious thought in all traditions and periods - including the areas of Islamic Studies.
IHYA is a peer-reviewed Journal published twice a year as July and January. The Journal aims to contribute religious, theological, and social studies by publishing original academic works meeting international scientific criteria. The Journal publishes articles in Turkish, English, and Arabic.
This journal uses double-blind peer review. Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers. There are at least three reviewers for the total number of articles in each issue. In addition, all articles are checked by means of a program in order to confirm they are not published before and avoid plagiarism.
The İHYA International Journal of Islamic Studies is an international peer-reviewed academic journal positioned within the field of Theological Studies, publishing scholarly research that examines the Islamic intellectual and scholarly tradition within its historical continuity, theoretical frameworks, and methodological diversity. The journal aims to establish a critical and analytical scholarly platform that engages the classical heritage of the field in dialogue with contemporary academic approaches.
Within this framework, İHYA seeks to publish original academic studies produced in disciplines directly related to theological studies, characterized by interdisciplinary perspectives and grounded in textual, intellectual, institutional, and social contexts. Priority is given to works that demonstrate methodological rigor, analytical depth, and strict adherence to academic ethical standards.
The İHYA International Journal of Islamic Studies is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually, in January and July. The journal does not charge any submission, evaluation, or publication fees. The manuscript submission deadlines are 15 May for the July issue and 15 November for the January issue. However, if the journal reaches its evaluation and publication capacity for a given issue, the submission process may be closed prior to the announced deadlines.
İHYA aims to contribute to the academic body of knowledge produced within the field of religious studies (Social and Human Sciences / Religion), with a primary focus on Theological Studies and related social sciences, by publishing original and high-quality scholarly works. The journal publishes research articles, book reviews, and symposium evaluation papers. No specific page limit is imposed on submitted manuscripts.
All submitted manuscripts undergo the following stages: Preliminary Review, Plagiarism Screening, Peer Review, and Turkish–English Language Editing. Manuscripts that fail to pass the Preliminary Review stage despite being reviewed three times are returned to the author and are not reconsidered within the same publication period. Manuscripts that successfully pass the Preliminary Review are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two reviewers. Where deemed necessary, the editor may increase the number of reviewers.

In the İhya International of Islamic Studies, the guidelines related to the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics of Higher Education Institutions, the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the International Standards for Editors and Authors provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) should be adhered to. Practices such as plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, salami slicing, and including individuals without a genuine contribution as authors are unacceptable within the framework of ethical principles. In cases of ethical misconduct related to these or similar practices, necessary legal actions will be taken.
a) Plagiarism:
Plagiarism involves presenting another person's original ideas, methods, data, or works as one’s own, either partially or entirely, without proper citation in accordance with scientific standards. Authors must ensure appropriate referencing and give credit to all scientific works included in their research to avoid plagiarism.
b) Data Fabrication:
The use of nonexistent or manipulated data in scientific research falls under data fabrication. Authors must collect data ethically and analyze it without making alterations that could affect the validity and reliability of the research.
c) Falsification:
Altering records or data obtained from research, claiming the use of instruments or materials not actually utilized in the study, or modifying research outcomes to align with the interests of supporting individuals or organizations constitutes falsification. Authors must be honest, objective, and transparent in all information they provide related to the research process, avoiding any breach of ethical principles.
d) Duplicate Publication:
Submitting the same publication as separate works without referencing prior publications is considered duplicate publication. Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that the work submitted for evaluation has not been previously published elsewhere or is not under review. Authors should avoid duplication and strive to submit original and unique research.
e) Salami Slicing (Segmented Publication):
Dividing the results of a study inappropriately into multiple parts and presenting them as separate publications disrupts the integrity of the research and is considered segmented publication. Authors should maintain research integrity and avoid segmenting their findings in a way that affects the results.
f) Authorship:
Including individuals who have not contributed to the research as authors or excluding those who have contributed constitutes unethical authorship practices. All authors must have contributed sufficiently to the planning, design, data collection, analysis, evaluation, preparation, and finalization of the study for publication.
