Journal of International Turkic Research/INTURE, published by the Marmara University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, is an international peer-reviewed journal that features academic studies in the fields of social sciences and humanities. Journal of International Turkic Research/INTURE aims to provide a national and international platform for presenting academic research to the scientific community on subjects concerning various primary and secondary branches of social sciences—such as language, history, art history, literature, folklore, geography, sociology, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, and theology—related to the Turkic World. Journal of International Turkic Research/INTURE is published twice a year, in Summer (June) and Autumn (December) periods. The publication language of Journal of International Turkic Research/INTURE is Turkish and English.
Journal of International Turkic Research published its first issue in 1984 under the founder and owner, the late Prof. Dr. Hakkı Dursun Yıldız, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Marmara University, with İnci Enginün, Mücteba İlgürel, İlhan Çeneli, and İlhan Şahin serving as members of the editorial board. The first issue of the journal was dedicated to the memory of Bilge Qaghan on the occasion of the 1250th anniversary of his death. Published annually for its first 6 issues under the ownership of Prof. Dr. Hakkı Dursun Yıldız, the ownership of the journal was assumed by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çetin Varlık, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Marmara University, starting from the 7th issue. After Prof. Dr. Emin Özbaş, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, took over ownership, the journal continued publication biannually (March-September) starting from the 9th issue. Starting from its 12th issue (September 2002), ownership was assumed by Prof. Dr. Emine Gürsoy Naskali, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Marmara University, and the journal suspended publication after the Fall 2005 issue. Resuming publication in 2008, the journal's lifespan was not long in this second period. Re-launched in 2018 under the umbrella of DergiPark under the ownership of Prof. Dr. Sebahat Deniz, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Marmara University, the journal was forced to suspend publication again until 2023 due to various reasons. In 2023, under the ownership of Prof. Dr. Sebahat Deniz, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Marmara University, the journal resumed publication twice a year under the umbrella of DergiPark and currently continues to be published biannually.
