Kırklareli University Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences

Kırklareli University Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences; is an international, peer reviewed, unpaid and open access journal that publishes original interdisciplinary research articles, reviews, research notes, technical notes, book reviews / reviews and letters to the scientific editor in the field of social sciences in order to contribute to academia, science and literature since 2012.

The journal accepts papers from Business, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Economics, Public Finance, Public Administration and International Relations disciplines. The language of the journal is Turkish and English. The publication period of the journal is two times a year, in March and September.

Writing Rules

All studies should be prepared in accordance with the Turkish template or English template showing the layout of all pages and the TR Index criteria.

If the original language of the submitted article is Turkish, Turkish title, Turkish abstract, English title, English abstract; if the original language of the article is English, English title, English abstract, Turkish title, Turkish abstract should be included. Keywords should be written under the Öz/Abstract sections. Abbreviations should not be used in Öz/Abstract. Öz/Abstract sections should be written in “Calibri Light” 9 font size and should not exceed 250 words. The title of the article should be written in 14 pt, initial letters capitalized, bold and centered on the page. Author names should be written in 9-point font, centered on the page in the format of Name SURNAME. Öz/Abstract titles should be written in 9 pt, with the first letters capitalized, bold and centered on the page. Keywords should be written with the first letter of each word capitalized, separated by a comma, and a period should not be placed at the end. Öz/Abstract should fit on one page and the “Introduction” section should start on a new page.

The manuscript should be written in Calibri Light font, 10-point font size, “single” line spacing, without indenting the first line of the paragraph and with a post-paragraph spacing of 6 pt. For articles written in Turkish, an “Extended Abstract” of 700-1000 words should be added after the bibliography and should be written in 9 pt. font size. For articles written in English, an “Extended Abstract” can be added optionally. Extended Abstract followed by the Statement of Research and Publication Ethics should start on a new page. Appendices should be placed last.

Abbreviations should be written 1 time in full form and the abbreviated form should be given in parentheses. If the text is already in parentheses, square brackets should be used. Example: United Nations (UN); (United Nations [UN]).

Page size should be 18*24 cm, margins should be 1.25 cm at the bottom, 1.25 cm at the top, 1.75 cm at the right, 1.75 cm at the left, and 0 cm from the left, and the page structure should be written justified.

The introduction, conclusion and bibliography sections should not be numbered and the headings should be written in Calibri Light font, 11-point, bold style. Öz, abstract, extended abstract, research and publication ethics statements and appendix headings should be written in 9-point, bold and centered. Appendix headings should be numbered.

All other in-text headings should be written in 11-point, bold style, left aligned and numbered in dotted format without leaving a paragraph space. No spaces should be left after or before the headings.

If the source is quoted verbatim, it should be enclosed in quotation marks and the page number should be given when referring to the source. When referring to the sources in the Turkish text, “s.” should be used for page information and “ss.” for page breaks. In English texts, “p.” and “pp.” should be used. (İnalcık, 2011, p. 23) or, as Halil İnalcık (2011, p. 23) emphasizes... or, as İnalcık (2011) emphasizes...

Works by the same author published in the same year should be given in alphabetical order as 2012a, 2012b, respectively. İnalcık (2011a, pp. 22-45).

In-text citations with two authors should be cited as (Özdemir and Özkan, 2020) and in-text citations with three or more authors should be cited as (Özkan et al., 2021).

If more than one source is to be cited at the same time, the sources should be separated from each other with semicolons in a single parenthesis, in alphabetical order. (Sabah, 2016; West, 2012).

If the statements in the source to be cited are to be given verbatim, the quoted text should be enclosed in double quotation marks (“...”) and the page number should be included in the in-text citation. For direct quotations over 40 words, the quoted text should be indented 1.25 cm from right and left and separated from the main text.

When referring to sources prepared by official institutions and organizations, if it is required to use the abbreviation of the name of the institution, the full name of the institution should be given in the first citation, followed by the abbreviation in square brackets (Turkish Statistical Institute [TÜİK], 2018). In all subsequent citations, only the abbreviation can be used (TÜİK, 2018). In the bibliography, the full name of the institution should be included without abbreviation.

When using secondary sources, both the primary source and the citing (secondary) source should be cited in the text. For example (Black, 1989, as cited in Pitt et al., 2024). Only the secondary source (cited) should be included in the bibliography.

One line space should be left before and after the use of tables, figures, etc. The table number and title should be centered in 11 pt (Table 1. in bold) and the information in the table should be in 10 pt. The information in the first line of the table should be bold and the rest should be written normally. If any note is to be used in the table, it should be preceded and followed by a dash and written as Note: Example...

The source(s) used in the table should be given in parentheses after the table according to in-text citation rules. The same standard format should be applied and centered for all other uses of figures, figures, etc., such as tables. In order to preserve the integrity of the use of tables, etc., it is possible, but not mandatory, to start from the next page.

The list of all sources utilized and used in the study should be consistent with the references in the text, and should continue after the conclusion without skipping a page. Sources that are not cited in the text should not be included in the bibliography. The references in the bibliography should be written in Calibri Light font, 10 point size, in the same way as in the text. The listed references should be listed alphabetically and the following lines of each reference should start 1.25 cm from the inside. URL addresses shown in the bibliography should be given as hyperlinked as in the https://iibfdergi.klu.edu.tr example.

Book/Work Reviews

Books/works with academic and scientific aspects should be preferred and should not be from books reviewed in previous issues of the journal.
There should be an introduction giving the subject and main discussion of the book/work.
The strengths and weaknesses of the book/work should be evaluated in a critical/scientific perspective.
The contribution of the book/work to the relevant literature should be included.
Direct quotations from the book/work should be cited with the page number.
Book reviews should be based on the journal review template and should be written according to APA rules.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

KIRKLARELI UNIVERSITY JOURNAL OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND ADMINSTRATIVE SCIENCES

PUBLICATION ETHICS, PUBLISHING PRINCIPLES, ACCESS POLICY, COPYRIGHTS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Journal of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (It will be called as "Journal".) is an independent publication with regards to scientific researchs and the board of editors decide its publication policy. The statement signifies the ethical behavior of the publisher, the editor, the reviewers, the authors and policies of journal, prepared within the framework of the "Journal Regulations" (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/journal-file/27954). The ethics statement for journal is based on COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors available at www.publicationethics.org. The references used are listed separately in the last article.

A. DUTIES OF PUBLISHER

1. Editorial Autonomy

Journal is committed to ensure the autonomy of editorial decisions without influence from anyone or commercial partners.

2. Intellectual Property and Copyright

Journal protects author(s)' property and copyright of the articles published in the Journal and maintains each article’s published version of record. Journal provides the integrity and transparency of each published articles.

3. Scientific Misconduct

Journal always takes all appropriate measures in respect to fraudulent publication or plagiarism the publisher.

B. DUTIES OF EDITORS

1. Decision on Publication and Responsibility

The editor(s) of journal keeps under control everything in the journal and strives to meet the needs of readers and authors. The editor also is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to journal ought to be published in the journal, and may be guided by the policies subjected to legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor might discuss with reviewers while making publication decision. Editor is responsible for the contents and overall quality of the publication. Editor ought to provide a fair and appropriate two-side blinded peer-review process.

2. Objectivity

Articles that submitted to journal are always evaluated without any prejudice.

3. Confidentiality

Any information about a submitted article must not be disclosed by editor to anyone other than editorial stuff, reviewers and publisher.

4. Conflicts of Interest and Disclosure

The editor(s) of journal does not allow any conflicts of interest between the parties such as authors, reviewers and editors. Unpublished materials in a submitted article must not be used by anyone without the express written assent of the author.

C. DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

1. Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts without origin, gender, sexual orientation or political philosophy of the authors. Reviewers also ensure a fair blind peer review of the submitted manuscripts for evaluation.

2. Confidentiality

All the information relative to submitted articles is kept confidential. The reviewers must not be discussed with others except if authorized by the editor.

3. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

The reviewers have no conflict of interest with regard to parties such as authors, funders, editors and etc..

4. Contribution to editor

Reviewers give help the editor in making decisions and may also assist the author in improving the manuscript.

5. Objectivity

The objective judgment evaluation is always done by them. The reviewers express their views clearly with appropriate supporting arguments.

6. Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers ought to identify relevant published study that has not been cited by the authors. Reviewers also call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

7. Evaluation

Reviewers report their opinions for the study by marking and taking notes on the evaluation form prepared in the system. Upon request, opinions can also be specified on the article file and uploaded to the system.

D. DUTIES OF AUTHORS

1. Reporting Standards

A submitted manuscript should be original and the authors ensure that the manuscript has never been published previously in any journal or all copyrighted permissions on the subject matter should be obtained. Data of the research ought to be represented literally in the article. A manuscript ought to include adequate detail and references to allow others to replicate the study. If the study is derived from a previous work of the author (thesis, paper, etc.), this should be given as acknowledgement. Ethics committee approval must be obtained for research conducted in all disciplines and for studies on clinical and experimental humans and animals requiring ethical committee decision, approval and permission must be obtained from the participants for researches such as surveys, interviews. This approval should be stated and documented in this article. Due to TR Dizin Index criterias (https://trdizin.gov.tr/en/criteria/) authors place their permissions in article which includes;

All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using questionnaires, interviews, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
Use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
Clinical trials on humans,
Research on animals,
Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on protection of personal data.

Also;

Stating that "informed consent form" was obtained in case presentations,
Obtaining and indicating permission from the owners for the use of scales, surveys and photographs belonging to others,
It should be stated that the copyright regulations are complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used.

2. Originality

The authors who want to submit their study to the journal must ensure that their study entirely original and the words and sentences getting from literature should be appropriately cited. Articles should be prepared in accordance with the writing rules (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/klujfeas/writing-rules).

3. Multiple Publications

Authors should not submit the same study for publishing any other journals. Simultaneous submission of the same study to more than one journal is unacceptable and constitutes unethical behavior.

4. Acknowledgment of Sources

Convenient acknowledgment of the study of others has to be given. Authors ought to cite publications that have been efficient in determining the study. All of the sources that used process of the study should be remarked. An unused resource should not be included in the bibliography.

5. Authorship of a Paper

Authorship of a paper ought to be limited to those who have made a noteworthy contribution to study. If there are others who have participated process of the research, they should be listed as contributors. Authorship also includes a corresponding author who is in communication with editor of a journal. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included on a paper.

6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All sources of financial support should be disclosed. All authors ought to disclose a meaningful conflict of interest in the process of forming their study.

7. Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors find out a remarkable error in their submitted study, they have to instantly inform it. Authors have a liability to cooperate with editor to provide corrections of errors.

8. Responsibility

All kinds of responsibility for the works to be published in the journal belongs enterly to the author(s).

9. Consent

The author(s) who submit an article to the journal are deemed to have accepted the journal's ethical statements and rules of writing.

E. JOURNAL PROCESSES

1. Sending Article

Studies must be sent via Dergipark website (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/klujfeas). All communication related to article submission and evaluation processes is carried out with Dergipark system.

2. Review and Evaluation

Papers are firstly checked for their eligibility for technical and journal’s style. The manuscripts that do not suit journal’s standards or not suitably correspond to the scope journal are refused with unexplained reason. Manuscripts that are found suitable for peer review will be assigned to two expert reviewers (blind review). If one of the reviewer's decision is rejection and the other one's is acceptence, then the article is sent to third reviewer. The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript will be made by the Editorial Boards. After the review process, the Editorial Boards will inform the authors of acceptance, rejection or necessity of revision of the manuscript.

3. Principles

a) The journal is using double-blind review policy. Authors and reviewers doesn't know each other.

b) Plagiarism check is performed through the İntihal.net system integrated with Dergipark. Studies with a similarity rate below 15% will be taken into the evaluation stage, between 15% and 30%, depending on the field of the studies and the quote density, will be evaluated and examined. Studies with a rate above 30% will not be evaluated, they will be returned to the author for editing or rejected. Regardless of the similarity rates, each study will be examined on its own, and if necessary, it can be sent to the author for editing.

F. ACCESS AND COPYRIGHTS

1. Open Access and Fee Policy

Journal is open-access and follows the publication policy of the "Budapest Open Access Initiative" (https://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/). In this sense, no fee is charged at any process of the journal. The entire archive of the journal (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/klujfeas/archive) is available online to everyone without any fee.

2. CC License and Copyright

Journal is licensed under a "Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License" (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). All copyrights of the work remains on the author(s), and the journal acquires the non-exclusive rights to publish and use the submitted work unlimitedly.
