“Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences” is an international academic and refereed online journal, which started its publication life in Turkish and English in 2019 and has a Editorial and Advisory Board consisting of faculty members from different universities' related departments.
“Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences” aims to be a journal that contributes to science by evaluating the work of academicians, graduate students and researchers, sharing academic knowledge and experiences, developing interdisciplinary studies, and enabling different perspectives to be revealed.
The journal is published twice a year, in December and June. The works of the submissions for publication must not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication. The language of the journal is Turkish and English and it is a national and international academic and peer-reviewed online journal. The research articles to be published in the journal should be prepared in accordance with the KMUJENS publication policy and spelling rules and delivered to the editorial board.

Candidate manuscripts submitted to the journal should not have been published elsewhere or submitted elsewhere for publication. All publication rights of the articles accepted for the publication belong to KMU Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences. In the writing of the candidate article sent to KMU Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the expression should be as simple, understandable, short, and concise. Statements containing judgment or certainty must be based on data or references. 3rd person singular expression should be used in article writing.
The candidate manuscript submitted to the KMU Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences is firstly examined stylistically by the Editor or Assistant Editors in terms of publication policy and rules. The candidate manuscript which is not found suitable is sent again to the author(s) for making the necessary corrections before proceeding to the evaluation phase.
The manuscript deemed suitable for evaluation is sent to at least two (2) referees from the relevant field. In case of a having difference of opinion among referees article about evaluating candidate article, candidate article is sent to a third referee. If the candidate manuscript was sent to more than two referees; decision will be based on the majority's opinion. If needed, article is sent back to the author(s) for correction in line with the referees' criticism and suggestions.
Candidate manuscripts corrected by the author/authors are reviewed by the relevant referee/referees and Editor and accepted for publication if deemed appropriate.
KMUJENS
ETHICAL RULES AND PUBLISHING PRINCIPLES
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences (KMUJENS) has adopted the development and distribution of information impartially and respectably. In the process of publication, authors expect readers, researchers, publishers, referees and editors to abide by the ethical rules. These stakeholders should pay attention to the standard general and specific ethical rules and responsibilities shared below, according to the open access guides published by Higher Education Institutions (YÖK) and Committee on PublicationEthics (COPE).
1. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND GENERAL ACTIONS OPERATING AGAINST PUBLICATION ETHICS
a) Plagiarism: Presenting others' ideas, methods, data, applications, writings, forms or works as if it were their own work, without reference to scientific ethical rules,
b) Fraud: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the submitted or published work based on unrealistic data, to report or publish them, to show an undone research as done,
c) Distortion: To falsify research records and obtained data, to show methods, devices and materials that are not used in the research as used, to evaluate data that do not comply with the research hypothesis, to play with data or results in line with the interests of individuals and organizations that are supported. distorting or shaping research results,
d) Duplicate Publication: To present more than one work containing the same results of a research as separate works in professorship exam evaluations and academic promotions,
e) Slicing: To present the results of a research as separate works in certain exam evaluations and academic incentives and promotions, disrupting the integrity of the research, disassembling it inappropriately and making numerous publications without reference to each other,
f) Unfair Authorship: Adding people who do not have an active contribution to article authors, not including people who have an active contribution among the authors, changing the author's order unjustly and inappropriately, removing the names of those who have an active contribution from the work during publication or in subsequent editions, using their influence even though they do not have an active contribution to include the name among the authors,
g) Other Types of Ethical Violation: It is assigned to not to clearly state the contributions of individuals, institutions or organizations and their support in the publications of the research carried out with the support of the research, not to respect the ethical rules in the researches conducted on human and animals, to respect the rights of the patients in their publications, to examine them as referees. To share the information in the work with others before publication, to use the resources, places, facilities and devices for scientific research other than the purpose, to blame an absolutely groundless, unwarranted and deliberate ethical violation (YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive)
2. STAKEHOLDERS 'RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Responsibilities of Editors
Based on KMUJENS editor and assistant editors, Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, and the Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors published by Committee on PublicationEthics (COPE) will provide ethical duties and responsibilities:
- Editors are responsible for every publication published in KMUJENS.
- Editors have responsibility and authority to accept or reject articles. It has to use this responsibility and authority in place and on time.
- Editors should not be in a conflict of interest regarding articles that they accept or reject.
- Editors should accept articles that are original and will contribute to their field.
- Editors should reject incomplete and erroneous researches that do not comply with journal policy, publishing rules and level without any influence.
- Editors should allow the wrong, incomplete and problematic articles to be withdrawn before or after the referee report or to be published after they are corrected.
- Editors ensure that the articles evaluated by at least two referees are evaluated according to the double-sided blind review system and keep the referees confidential.
- Editors continue their business processes without sacrificing intellectual property rights and ethical standards.
- The editors take responsibility for the plagiarism status of the articles and whether they are unpublished original research through the “Turnitin and / or ithenticate” plagiarism program.
- Editors take into account the knowledge, skills and experiences needed by all readers, researchers and practitioners.
- Editors take care that the published issues contribute to the reader, researcher, practitioner and scientific field and be original.
- Editors ensure that all members of the advisory committee advance the processes in accordance with their editorial policies and guidelines.
- Editors inform the members of the advisory board about their publication policies.
- Editors allow members of the advisory board to evaluate their work independently.
- Editors can contribute to new advisory board members and make decisions accordingly.
- Editors should submit appropriate studies for the expertise of advisory board members for evaluation.
- Editors regularly interact with the advisory board.
- Editors organize regular meetings with the editorial board for publishing policies and journal development.
- The relationship between editors, (Editor and Co-Editors) and publisher is based on the principle of editor independence. According to the written agreement between the editors and the publisher, all the editors' decisions are independent of the publisher and the journal owner.
-Editors and Associate Editors can not print more than four(4) articles in KMUJENS.
b) Authors' Responsibilities
- It is expected that the works submitted by the author (s) should be original. If the author (s) benefit from or use other studies, they should cite and / or quote completely and accurately.
-People who do not contribute to the content intellectually in the creation of the study should not be specified as authors.
- The situations and relationships of all the studies that may constitute a conflict of interest, if any, must be explained.
- The raw data on their articles may be request from the author(s) within evaluation processes, in such a case, the author (s) should be ready to present the expected data and information to the editorial board and scientific board.
-The author (s) must have a document showing that they have the rights to use the data used, the necessary permissions for the research /analysis, or that the consent of the experimental subjects has been obtained.
- In the event that the author (s) notices a mistake or error related to the published article at the early view or evaluation stage, it has an obligation to cooperate with the editor in informing, correcting or withdrawing the journal editor or publisher.
- The study of authors can not have in the application process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started following completion of the previous application. A published study in another journal cannot be sent to us.
- Change of author responsibilities (such as adding author, changing author order, removing author) cannot be offered for a study whose evaluation process has started.
c) Responsibilities of Arbitrators
Our journal management is committed to the successful execution and improvement of the refereeing process within the framework of ethical publishing rules. Welcomes the stakeholders and readers of the research to report their plagiarism, repeated publications, inaccuracies, suspicious content or situations to the e-mail address fbeditor@kmu.edu.tr. It reports the data and results obtained on the subject to the relevant parties and follows them. It is based on the referees compliance with the following principles.
- Evaluations should be done impartially.
- There should be no conflict of interest between the referees and the stakeholders of the article under consideration.
- Completion of other articles, works, sources, citations, rules and similar deficiencies related to the article should be pointed out.
- Articles or referees evaluated based on the double-sided blind review system are not disclosed.
3. PLAGIARISM POLICY
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences(KMUJENS) has started to control the works sent to be published as of August 2020 through plagiarism programs (Turnitin or iThenticate). Studies with a plagiarism above 40% are not evaluated and returned to the author. If a study published in the journal is found to be plagiarism, the Editorial Board withdraws the article and initiates the necessary actions.
4. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Editors ensure the protection of personal data on the topics or images included in the evaluated work. Documents showing their contributions are given to the contributors (editors, authors and referees).
5. ETHICAL COMMITTEE, HUMAN AND ANIMAL RIGHTS
Editors ensure the protection of human and animal rights in the evaluated works. Editors have the responsibility to refuse to work when the ethics committee consents the issues used in the study, and there is no permission for experimental research. In studies requiring ethics committee permission, information about the permit (board name, date and number no) should be included in the method section and also on the first / last page of the article. In case reports, information about the informed volunteer / consent form being signed should be included in the article.
6. POSSIBLE ABUSE AND ABUSE MEASURES
Editors take precautions against possible abuse and abuse behavior. In addition to conducting a rigorous and objective investigation into the detection and evaluation of complaints related to this situation, the responsibilities of the editor share the relevant findings with the competent authorities.
7. PROVIDING ACADEMIC PUBLISHING INTEGRITY
Editors ensure that the decisions involving errors, inconsistencies or misleading in the works are corrected quickly.
8. PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Editors are obliged to take necessary measures to protect the intellectual property rights of all published articles and to defend journal and author rights in case of possible violations, to ensure that the content of all published articles does not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications.
9. CONFIGURATION AND OPEN DISCUSSION
The editors take into account the criticism against the works published in the journal and take a constructive attitude towards these criticisms in line with the purpose and scope of the journal. Authors of criticism have the right to reply. Studies with negative results are rejected.
10. COMPLAINTS
Editors are obliged to review the complaints carefully and respond to the authors, reviewers or readers in an enlightening and explanatory manner.
11. POLITICAL AND COMMERCIAL CONCERNS
The owner, publisher, and any other political or commercial element cannot influence the editorial decisions of the magazine.
12. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Editors guarantee and provide authors and referees that the journal's publication process will be maintained independently and impartially.

Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences(KMUJENS) provides open access for continuous and free use of its content in order to increase the global change of knowledge and to produce beneficial results for humanity. In this context, all articles published in the journal are available at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ mdfbe/archive. The articles in KMUJENS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Commercial use of the content is prohibited. Articles in the journal can be used as long as the author and original source are cited.
3- Pricing Policy:
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences(KMUJENS) does not charge any fee for the submission, evaluation and publication of the articles. The authors do not pay article processing fees for the works they send to the journal.
4- Article Evaluation Process:
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences(KMUJENS) is published twice a year, in June and December. All of the articles are published in a collective number, with a table of contents.
a) Articles are written in accordance with KMUJENS writing rules and uploaded to the journal system by the responsible author.
b) The received article KMUJENS is delivered to the editor (2-5 days) after editorial review by assistant editors.
c) It is forwarded to the related referees (5-10 days) according to the subject of the article reviewed by the editor and approved.
d) Studies are sent to at least 2 referees. If one of the referees gives a negative report, the study is recommended to the 3rd referee.
e) The authors are informed according to the referee reports (within 1 month at the latest).
f) The articles that require correction should be corrected and sent back in accordance with the reports within 1 month at the latest.
g) In case of acceptance from two referees, the article is published in the following number.
h) The publication decision process between 1 and 2 months after the submission of an article to KMUJENS is concluded.
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences does not charge any fee from the author/authors at any stage (submission, evaluation and publication) of publication processes.
Ahmet İpek is a professor in the Department of Mathematics, Division of Algebra and Number Theory, at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, Kamil Özdağ Faculty of Science. His academic career began as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mathematics at Selçuk University from 2001 to 2009. In 2009, he became an Assistant Professor at Mustafa Kemal University, where he earned the title of Associate Professor in 2012. In 2013, he joined Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University and was promoted to Professor in 2018. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at Selçuk University’s Faculty of Science between 1997 and 2001. He obtained his master’s degree from the Institute of Science at Selçuk University in 2005, with a thesis titled “Norms of Khatri-Rao and Tracy-Singh products of Cauchy-Toeplitz and Cauchy-Hankel matrices.” In 2009, he completed his PhD at the same institution with a dissertation titled “Fibonacci and Lucas matrix sequences and their properties.” Throughout his academic journey, he has conducted research primarily in Algebra and Number Theory.
Dr. Burak Sürmen 2008 yılında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Biyoloji Bölümünden mezun olmuştur. 2012 yılında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Biyoloji Anabilim Dalından “Hacıosman Subasar Ormanında bazı azot tespiti yapan ve yapmayan ağaç ve çalı türlerinde yaprak rezorbsiyonu” konulu tez ile “Yüksek Lisans” derecesi almıştır. Yine 2018 yılında Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Biyoloji Anabilim Dalından “Su basar orman ekosistemlerinde tahribat derecelerinin türlerin strateji ve ekolojik gösterge değerlerine göre belirlenmesi” başlıklı tez ile “Doktora” derecesi almıştır. Yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin konusu bitki ekolojisi olup, halen Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi Kâmil Özdağ Fen Fakültesi Biyoloji Bölümünde görevine devam etmektedir.
Ümit ÜNVER earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998, followed by a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Thermodynamics and Energy Department) in 2000, and a Ph.D. in the same field in 2004, all from Uludağ University.
In 1999, he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at Uludağ University as a Research and Teaching Assistant. After completing his doctorate, he was appointed as a Lecturer in 2005.
From 2006 to 2011, he gained industrial experience as a C-level executive. In 2011, he joined the Faculty of Engineering at Yalova University as an Assistant Professor.
Throughout his career, Dr. ÜNVER has held several key administrative and advisory roles, including Coordinator of the Founding Committee for Yalova University Technopark, Coordinator for Public University-Industry Collaborations (KÜSİ), Deputy Director and Director of the Yalova University Science and Technology Applied and Research Center, and Advisor to the Rector. In 2018, he was promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 2024 he was promoted to Professor in the same department.
His research focuses on energy efficiency in buildings, green buildings, zero energy buildings, energy efficiency in industry, thermodynamic analysis, energy conversion systems, and induction heating systems. By the end of 2021, he had published over 60 papers and articles on these topics. Additionally, he has served as an executive, consultant, observer, and referee in more than 30 projects.
1999 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakultesi Biyoloji Öğretmenliği, 2004 yılında Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsünde Bitki fizyolojisi alanında yüksek lisans, 2014 yılındaDumlupınar Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsünde Bitki Sistematiği alanında doktora yaptım. Bitki sistematiği, etnobotanik, tıbbi ve aromatik bitkiler, bitki fizyolojisi alanında çlışmalar yapıyorum.
Osman Tunca is a Assoc. Prof. in the Civil Engineering Department of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University where he has been a faculty member since December 2023.
Osman completed his B.S. at Aksaray University and his M.Sc. at Gaziantep University in 2010 and 2013 respectively. His Ph.D. completed at Akdeniz University in 2019. His research interest lies in the area of experimental study of structural members, finite element analysis, and optimum design.
Lisans, Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora derecelerini sırasıyla 1997, 2010 ve 2016 yıllarında Ankara Gazi Üniversitesi'nden elektrik eğitimi alanında aldı. Şu anda Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Elektrik ve Elektronik Mühendisliği bölümünde Doçent olarak çalışmaktadır. Araştırma ilgi alanları arasında orta frekans güç transformatörü, yumuşak manyetik çekirdek malzemeli transformatör tasarımı, transformatör termal analizi, indüktör tasarımı, FEA yazılımı ile elektromanyetik modelleme ve güç elektroniği devrelerinin performans analizi yer almaktadır.
He received the B.S., M.S. and the Ph.D. degrees in electrical education from the Gazi University, Ankara, in 1997, 2010 and 2016, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor at the faculty of engineering, department of Electrical And Electronics Engineering, Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University. His research interests include medium frequency power transformer, transformer design with the soft magnetic core material, transformer thermal analysis, inductor design, electromagnetic modeling with FEA software, and performance analysis of the power electronics circuits.

Dr. Yalçın Kalkan is a physicst currently employed at the Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University (Turkiye) and is the head of the center of the radiation detectors research and application (NÜRDAM). He is a team leader of the CERN DRD1 Collaboration. Scientific interests cover the following areas: innovative materials for detector technologies, investigation of the potential use of nanomaterials as detector structures, polimer materials to detect X-rays, development of innovative materials for radiation shielding, size determination in gas phase using Rayleigh scattering methode, UV photocathode materials and the characterization, radiation-material interaction mechanisms, wearable radiation detector Technologies using textile materials.
Professor Ahmed Nafis is a renowned microbiologist with expertise in microbial biotechnology, applied microbiology, and environmental microbiology. Currently serving in the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Sciences, Chouaib Doukkali University in El Jadida, Morocco, he has built an impressive academic career, including notable positions at prestigious institutions such as Université Cadi Ayyad.

Dr. Sajjad Bagheri Baba Ahmadi is a Lecturer in computer science at the University of the West of Scotland, United Kingdom. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, where his research focused on innovative image watermarking techniques for information security. With a strong background in artificial intelligence, multimedia security, and privacy, Dr. Sajjad has authored many publications in prestigious journals and conferences.
In addition to his academic role, Dr. Sajjad actively contributes to the research community as an editor, peer reviewer, and conference committee member. His research interests include cybersecurity, multimedia forensics and security, deepfake detection, and machine learning.
Dr. Manish Kumar Singla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science Engineering at Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology, Bathinda, India. He did his PhD in the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Department at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India. He received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Punjab Technical University and Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, in India, respectively. He has published more than 90 manuscripts in good journals and granted more than 25 patents. He is serving as an academic editor in some well-known journals. His current fields of interest include Fuel Cells, Power Systems, Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, and Renewable Energy.
