The primary aim of the Kocatepe Journal of Art, Design, and Communication is to support the production of knowledge in the fields of fine arts, design, and communication by including original, scientifically qualified, theoretical, and applied studies. The journal encourages studies that explore the relationships between different disciplines of art while also encompassing the evaluation of traditional arts through contemporary approaches, the analysis of contemporary art practices, and critical discussions on art education processes.
Among the journal’s primary objectives are to enhance academic interaction in the fields of art, design, and communication at both national and international levels, to open new intellectual approaches for discussion, and to contribute to the existing literature.
The journal aims to offer a multifaceted content that addresses the aesthetic, cultural, and technical aspects of art and design, as well as the relationship of communication studies with social transformation, media criticism, and digitalization processes. Prioritizing the exploration of the intersection points of art, design, and communication disciplines, it seeks to examine the impacts of these fields within social, technological, and cultural contexts.
The Kocatepe Journal of Art, Design, and Communication features theoretical and applied studies prepared with an innovative and critical perspective in the disciplines of art, design, and communication. Aiming to bring together local and global perspectives, the journal particularly supports studies that introduce the cultural heritage, artistic practices, and design understanding of Anatolia to the international academic community. In addition, theoretical and empirical analyses on global artistic, design, and communication debates are also within the journal's scope.
