Publishing Principles and Publication Ethics

1. The journal is an online double-blind peer-reviewed academic publication. It publishes only original scientific studies.
2. In order for the articles to be published, they must not have been previously published elsewhere, accepted for publication or submitted simultaneously to any journal. Articles presented in scientific meetings such as symposiums and congresses but unpublished and studies produced from graduate theses are accepted for publication.
3. Republishing is the publication of the same article or substantially similar articles in more than one journal. The editor returns this type of article without review. After that, the editor may impose an embargo on the author attempting to republish for a certain period of time, explain this situation to the public in the journal in which the author has previously published, or apply all of these measures together.
4. The similarity rate of the manuscripts submitted to the journal should be below 20%. Before the manuscripts are included in the reviewing process, they are passed through the iThenticate program and a similarity report is obtained. Manuscripts with a similarity rate above 20% are rejected by the Editorial Board. Plagiarism, duplication, false authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, copyright infringement and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors. All manuscripts that do not comply with accepted ethical standards are removed from the publication.
5. The responsibility of the articles sent to the journal belongs to the authors. For this reason, the author/s must sign and scan the Copyright Agreement Form, upload it to the system during the application and send it to the journal. The Copyright Agreement Form can be accessed from the files title in the 'submit an article' button on the journal web page.

PUBLICATION PROCESS
1. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are reviewed by the editorial board in terms of compliance with journal principles.
2. Manuscripts approved by the Editorial Board are checked by the secretariat for spelling and language control. If there are parts that do not comply with the journal writing rules, the manuscript is sent to the author and he is asked to make corrections within 7 days.
3. Manuscripts that are found suitable for spell check are sent to two reviewers in the relevant field. Author information is not shared with reviewers in any way. The identity of the reviewer is kept confidential and the reviewer report is kept for five years.
4. Reviewers may reject the manuscript, or request corrections after the reviewing process. The reviewer arranges the reviewing report accordingly, sends the copy of the manuscript on which the parts requested to be corrected are marked and the reviewing report to the journal. Journal management is responsible for forwarding the correction request to the author. The author is responsible for making the corrections requested by reviewers within a month and sending the edited version of the manuscript to the journal. The author/s should take into account the criticisms and suggestions of reviewers and the editorial board. If there are issues that they do not agree with, they can object with their justifications.
5. If one of the reviewer reports is negative, the study is sent to the third reviewer or the editorial board makes the final decision.
6. In case of acceptance from two reviewers, the manscript is published in the following issue.
7. During the acceptance of the manuscript , it becomes visible in the “Accepted Articles” tab on the journal web page.
Publication of Studies Based on Survey and Interview

International Journal of Language and Translation Studies adopts the principles of the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE) “Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers” in order to establish ethical assurance in academic periodicals. In this regard, the following issues will be considered in the studies submitted to the journal:
1. For research conducted in all fields that require ethics committee approval, an ethics committee approval should be obtained, and this approval should be stated and documented in the article.
2. In research that requires ethics committee approval, information about the approval (name of the committee, date and number) in the method section, and also on one of the first/last pages of the article. In case reports, information about signing the informed consent/consent form should be included in the article.

Objection Process
We also take into account serious objections to reviews made by editors and reviewers. If you think we rejected your article because we misunderstood the scientific content, please send an objection message to our editorial team at selcuklotus@gmail.com. However, do not try to submit a revised version of your manuscript during this process. If, after reading your objection letter, we understand that your objection is justified, we may invite you to submit a revised version of your manuscript. Your manuscript will then be resubmitted to the external reviewing process. Please include as much detail as possible in the letter. We can only consider one objection per manuscript, so please provide a detailed explanation to make your objection clear.
