The Western Black Sea Medical Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal published by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. First launched in 2017, the journal is published three times a year (in April, August, and December) and accepts articles in both Turkish and English.
The journal aims to contribute to the advancement of medical science by publishing high-quality research in the fields of basic medical sciences, clinical medical sciences, and surgical sciences. It prioritizes studies conducted in accordance with scientific ethics, impartiality, and academic standards.
The Western Black Sea Medical Journal publishes original research articles, reviews, case reports, and letters to the editor in the fields of basic medical sciences, clinical medical sciences, and surgical sciences.
The journal’s objective is to support the dissemination of current and qualified scientific research that contributes to the development of medical knowledge. It encourages the publication of findings related to clinical practice, diagnostic and therapeutic innovations, as well as experimental and observational studies in medicine.

Medical Journal of Western Black Sea is published three times a year. Issues are released in April, August, and December.
The journal is published in both Turkish and English. Manuscripts can be submitted in either language.

The full-text versions of all articles published in the journal are stored in PDF format at the National Library of Türkiye.
Medical Journal of Western Black Sea is an open access journal. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright of their published article. Open access ensures more reuse and citation, higher visibility and discoverability, greater engagement, immediate impact, increased interdisciplinary work and wider collaboration.
Medical Journal of Western Black Sea adopts the Open Access Declaration published by the Budapest Open Access Initiative in February, 2002:
“By ‘open access’ to this [research] literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The publisher guarantees not to charge any reader or library a subscription fee and a fee for access to published electronic articles.
