Aim & Scope
“Ordu University Journal of Science and Technology” focuses on original and qualified studies on Engineering, Basic Sciences, Agriculture, and Science-Mathematics Education in the field of Science.
Original research articles, short articles, and reviews are accepted to the journal in order to create an academic resource for the field. Priority is given to the publication of articles that reflect current technological developments and are prepared in English. Publications prepared from graduate theses or research articles made as a sub-study of these theses are also accepted.
The studies submitted to the journal should not have been published in any language and in any journal/book before, or should not have been published in full text in the symposium booklet.

Title Page | Article Template
Title Page
The title page should be created as a single page and loaded separately from the article text. It should include the Turkish and English titles of the article, the authors' name and surname, address information, ORCID numbers, financial support, ethics committee, and conflict of interest statement. In addition, the corresponding author should be indicated on the title page. The titles of the authors should not be specified.
Article Text (Except author's information)A4 size paper should be used in portrait orientation. Margins (Normal) should be 2.5 cm on the right, left, bottom and top (4 sides) of the page.
The article should not exceed 6000 words, including the "References" section. The pages of the article and the lines on each page should be numbered. Paragraph indentation should not be used. Single-sentence paragraphs should not be used.
The font "Calibri" should be used throughout the article. The body of the article should be written in 11 font sizes, single line spacing, and justified on both sides. There should be 6 pt spaces before and after the paragraphs.
The article is composed of Turkish title, Turkish Abstract, Turkish Keywords, English Title, English Abstract, English Keywords, Introduction, Material and Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Suggestions (if any), Abbreviations and/or Symbols (if any), Support and Acknowledgments (if any)*, Author Contribution*, Ethics, Conflict of Interest*, ORCID*, References, and Appendices (if any) sections.
* Support and Acknowledgments (if any), Author Contribution, Ethics, Conflict of Interest, and ORCID sections, as well as the headings and body text, should be written in 10 font size, single line spacing, and justified on both sides. Author Contribution, Ethics, Conflict of Interest, and ORCID sections must be included in the article.
Numbering should not be used in headings. Titles should be written with the first letter of each word capitalized, except for conjunctions. There should be a 10 nk paragraph space before the headings and a 6 pt paragraph space after them. The text should be written under the title.
Level 1 main headings: 12 pt, bold and centered (Introduction, Method, Results, etc.)
Level 2 headings: 11 pt, bold and left-aligned
Level 3 headings: 11 pt, bold, italic, and left-aligned
Level 4 headings: 11 pt, normal, italic, and left-aligned*
Level 5 headings: 11 pt, normal, italic, left-aligned, and indented*
* The use of Level 4 and Level 5 titles should be avoided as much as possible.
Article TitleIt should be short and inclusive, not exceeding 15 (fifteen) words. Except for conjunctions, the first letters of the words should be capitalized, and the other letters should be written in lowercase, 14 pt, centered and bold. The English title should be written in the same format and above the English abstract. Abbreviations should not be used in the title of the article.
Summary/AbstractTurkish and English “Abstract” should not exceed 200 words. The summary section should summarize the purpose, method, findings, and results of the study. It should be written as a single paragraph. It should be written justified on both sides. Headings and body text should be written in "Calibri" font, 10 font sizes, single line spacing. “Abstract” and “Abstract” titles should be written in bold and centered above the abstract text. In which language the article is written, the abstract in that language should be given first.
A minimum of 3, a maximum of 5 keywords should be written under one line of the abstract, which are directly related to the content of the study and will facilitate indexing. It should be written in 10 point size, justified to the left. Keywords should be written in lower case and separated by “,” (comma). Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Ethical Principles
Our journal is based on the ethical development and distribution of knowledge. Our journal adopts COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Code of conduct for journal publishers* published by the ethical COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). In this respect, all stakeholders (authors, referees, editors, etc.) have the responsibility to comply with ethical standards and ethical principles.
* In place of the Code of Conduct, “Core Practices” were developed in 2017, which are valid for everyone who publishes scientific work (editors, journals, institutions).

Ethical Principles
- All studies submitted to the journal are evaluated in terms of scientific contribution to the field, originality, and quality.
- The articles to be sent to the journal should be prepared in accordance with the article template within the framework of the "Author Guidelines". Manuscripts can be sent back to the responsible author to be rearranged when deemed necessary.
- Articles with insufficient narrative language may be excluded from the evaluation. Authors are advised to have the article reviewed in terms of language (English and/or Turkish) before submitting it.
- Authors must upload the article and the "Copyright Transfer Form" to the system in the first submission. All legal responsibilities arising from the content of the articles to be published in the journal and legal responsibilities that may arise regarding copyrights belong entirely to the authors.
- In our journal, the use of "ORCID" number has been made compulsory in accordance with international acceptances at the stage of article submission. Authors should also indicate their ORCID numbers when submitting the article.
- Plagiarism policy: The articles sent to our journal use "Turnitin" or "i-Thenticate" software to detect plagiarism. "Bibliography" is excluded in plagiarism scans. If the similarity rate is above 25% in the submitted articles, the article is rejected without starting the peer-review process. The similarity rate for a single source should be less than 4%. If it is high, the article is sent back to the responsible author for editing and re-uploading. Although the similarity rate is below 25%, if it is against ethical principles, it is rejected regardless of the similarity rate.
- In the first submission of the articles to the journal; Title page should be loaded with Article text (excluding author information), Copyright transfer agreement, and Similarity report. If the research requires ethics committee approval, the article file and ethics committee document should also be uploaded.
- Reference suggestions are requested from the authors. Field editors can take these suggestions into account or appoint different referees.

Price Policy
• Among the authors who submitted articles to Ordu University Journal of Science and Technology; No fee is charged for processes such as application, evaluation, and publication.
• No royalties are paid to the authors for the published articles.

Usame Demir joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University at 2021. He received his BE (2010), MSc (2013) and PhD (2017) from Sakarya University. His doctoral research was in Electromechanic variable valve timing for internal combustion engine modelling using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). He has interest in the following research areas are internal combustion engines, HCCI engine, alternative fuels, combustion modelling using SRM and CFD simulation tools.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdem TURKELİ actively works at Ordu University, Vocational School of Technical Sciences (Construction Department). After graduating from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2006, he worked at the Ordu Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (Turkey) for about ten years. During this time period, he completed his Master's and Doctorate studies at Ondokuz Mayıs University (Samsun-Turkey) and Karadeniz Technical University (Trabzon-Turkey) in 2009 and 2016, respectively. Dr. Erdem TURKELİ investigates the seismic and wind response of high-rise and special structures such as reinforced concrete or masonry chimneys, minarets, steel lighting towers. He also has studies on the optimization of structures from many aspects. He has published many articles in internationally respected journals and is fluent in English.
