Dr. Fella Lahmar is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) with over 20 years of experience in Islamic and comparative education, focusing on decolonisation, social justice, and the interplay between education, Islam, and cultural heritage.
As a Research Fellow at the Open University, UK, Dr. Lahmar recently led the Algerian research project as part of the broader Decolonisation of Education for Peace in Africa (DEPA) multi-country initiative, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. The project explored how Algeria’s artistic heritage fosters reconciliation across diverse linguistic communities. She also collaborated with the Qatar Foundation to contribute to the design of an MA in Comparative Education at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. Previously, she led MA programmes in Islamic Studies and Education validated by Birmingham Newman University. She has also worked at various other higher education institutions, including the University of Bolton and the University of Nottingham, UK.
Her publications include numerous journal articles and book chapters on decolonising education, Islamic educational frameworks, and the role of indigenous arts in peacebuilding. She co-edited a special issue on Islamic education in a Western context and is currently writing a Routledge book on diversity and belonging in Islamic schools in Europe.
Dr Paul Campbell is an Assistant Professor of Educational Administration and Leadership in the Social Contexts and Policies of Education Unit, Faculty of Education, University of Hong Kong. His research and teaching focuses on the intersection of collaboration, leadership, and educational change, with a particular interest in education policy and leadership development. Prior to moving into higher education, Paul was a Vice Principal, Senior Leader, and Primary Teacher in Scotland, Australia, Spain and Hong Kong.
Paul is widely engaged in the broader education community. He is a Scholar-Practitioner Fellow of the Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change, Co-coordinator of ICSEI’s Educational Leadership Network and sits on the editorial board of the School Leadership and Management (SLAM) and Management in Education (MiE) journals, and the Publications Committee of the British Educational Research Association (BERA). Paul is also a member of the WISE ALL-IN network, an Honorary International Affiliate with the Centre for International Research into Leadership in Education (CIRLE) at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şükrü Bellibaş completed his undergraduate education in Educational Sciences at Istanbul University (2009) and his doctorate in Educational Administration at Michigan State University (2014). Bellibaş, who became an Associate Professor in 2017, became a Professor in the field of Educational Sciences in 2024. Prof. Bellibaş currently works for the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Prof. Bellibaş has more than 50 articles published in journals indexed in respected national and international directories. Prof. Bellibaş's research area is educational administration.
