ABOUT THE JOURNAL

The Journal of History, Culture and Art Studies (TAKSAD) is a peer-reviewed academic journal established in 2012 under the auspices of the History, Culture and Art Research and Application Center of Karabük University. The journal publishes scholarly research at both national and international levels.

Drawing upon the academic expertise of Karabük University and the scholarly activities of its affiliated research center, the journal provides a platform for the dissemination of original research in the fields of history, culture, art, and literature. In this regard, TAKSAD aims to strengthen scholarly communication among researchers from different disciplines, contribute to the advancement of academic knowledge, and encourage interdisciplinary research.

TAKSAD publishes scholarly studies in a wide range of fields related to history, culture, and art, including Ottoman history, Islamic history, Turkish-Islamic literature, art history, architectural history, cultural heritage, folklore, archaeology, and literature. In addition to independent research conducted within these fields, the journal also welcomes studies that draw upon the methodologies and approaches of different academic disciplines.

Committed to the principles of academic integrity, impartiality, transparency, and originality, TAKSAD employs a double-blind peer review system in its manuscript evaluation process. The journal's editorial procedures are conducted in accordance with internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing and the guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

In order to facilitate the faster and more effective dissemination of scholarly knowledge, the journal adopted a continuous publication model as of January 2026. Under this model, manuscripts that have successfully completed the peer review and editorial processes and have been accepted for publication are published without waiting for the completion of an entire issue. This approach aims to ensure the timely dissemination of scholarly research and enhance its academic visibility.

Continuing its publishing activities under the auspices of the History, Culture and Art Research and Application Center of Karabük University, TAKSAD remains committed to contributing to the scholarly investigation of historical, cultural, artistic, and literary heritage from the past to the present and to disseminating high-quality academic research in these fields to the national and international scholarly community.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be prepared in full compliance with the journal's current author guidelines and official manuscript template. Authors are required to carefully review the author guidelines before submission and ensure that their manuscripts comply with the prescribed formatting, academic, and bibliographic requirements.

The journal's official Word template must be used when preparing manuscripts. Text formatting, headings, abstracts, keywords, footnotes, citations, references, and all other formatting elements must comply with the requirements specified in the template. Furthermore, manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the 2nd Edition of the ISNAD Citation Style, as adopted by the journal.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the author guidelines or the official manuscript template may be returned to the authors for the necessary corrections before being sent for peer review. If the identified deficiencies are not resolved, the editorial team may reject the manuscripts without proceeding to the peer review stage.

To avoid delays in the evaluation process, authors are strongly requested to prepare their manuscripts using the journal's current Word template and carefully check compliance with all author guidelines before submission.
