Archiving Policy

Articles published in Tourism and Recreation magazine are digitally archived in LOCKSS. In addition, published articles can be made accessible by the author in the institutional archives of the university where he/she works, in thematic archives or in any other archive without an embargo period. Thus, everyone can access this publication immediately, free of charge. Tourism and Recreation journal (e-ISSN: 2687-1971), in accordance with its policy of supporting the dissemination of research results, is pleased to announce its archive policy:

  1. Tourism and Recreation journal allows authors to use the final published version of an article (publisher pdf) for self-archiving (author's personal website) and/or archiving in an institutional repository after publication.
  2. Authors may self-archive their articles in public and/or commercial subject-based archives. There is no embargo period, but the published source must be cited and a link must be set to the journal home page or DOI of the articles.
  3. Authors can download the printout of the article as a PDF document. Authors may send copies of the article to colleagues without any embargo.
  4. Tourism and Recreation journal allows all versions of articles (Submitted version, accepted version, published version) to be deposited without embargo in an institutional or other repository of the author's choice.
  5. Tourism and Recreation magazine uses the LOCKSS system to allow the creation of permanent archives. The LOCKSS Program (https://www.lockss.org/), based at Stanford University Libraries, provides libraries and publishers with award-winning, low-cost, open-source digital preservation tools to provide access to permanent and authoritative digital content. The LOCKSS Program is a library-led digital preservation system built on the principle of “ensuring the security of large numbers of copies.” The LOCKSS Program develops and supports libraries using open source end-to-end digital preservation software. If you want to get more information about the LOCKSS system, click the link.

The LOCKSS system allows librarians at each institution to access and protect the e-content they subscribe to and restore the print purchasing model that librarians are familiar with. The Global LOCKSS Network protects today's e-magazines and e-books for tomorrow's readers. The Global LOCKSS Network is a proven approach to preservation that uniquely empowers both libraries and publishers. The Global LOCKSS Network is managed and managed by the Stanford University Libraries LOCKSS Program. For additional information, see the LOCKSS Program website, https://www.lockss.org/. Technical Infrastructure is the security category for the use of LOCKSS technology. This page explains in more detail how LOCKSS software separates and how protection works in LOCKSS networks.
