1. General Principles

The Journal of Management Information Systems is a peer-reviewed journal published at least biannually (June and December). The publication language of the journal is Turkish; however, manuscripts written in English may also be published. The journal aims to publish theoretical and/or applied studies that make original contributions to the field.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial board in terms of their originality, scientific quality, and compliance with the author guidelines. Studies that meet the preliminary evaluation criteria are then sent to three reviewers. The identities of both the reviewers and the authors are kept confidential during this process.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial board makes the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. Manuscripts that are not accepted for publication are not returned to the authors. The scientific responsibility of the published articles belongs to the authors. Quotations from published works may be made provided that proper citation is given.

After publication, all copyright rights of the manuscript belong to the Journal of Management Information Systems. No publication fee is paid to the authors for published articles. Published articles may not be reproduced or published elsewhere without the permission of the Journal of Management Information Systems.

2. Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts must be prepared in “MS Word” format and submitted through the Journal of Management Information Systems website by logging in at https://dergipark.org.tr/ybs.

Due to the double-blind peer review policy, the manuscript file uploaded to DergiPark must not include a cover page or any author names. In addition, author information must be removed from the file properties. Author details must be entered completely into the system. In cases of multiple authors, all authors should be added using the “Add Author” option, taking into account the correct author order, and the corresponding author must be specified.

3. Writing Rules and Formatting Guidelines

It is recommended to use the MS Word manuscript template provided above when preparing the manuscript.

Manuscripts must be written in “Times New Roman”, 11-point font, single-spaced, and justified. The page layout should be set to A4 size, with margins of 2.5 cm on the right, left, top, and bottom. (These settings can be adjusted under “Page Layout” – “Margins” in MS Word). Paragraph indentation should be set to 1.25 cm, and spacing between paragraphs should be set to “0 pt” before and “6 pt” after. (These settings can be adjusted under “Paragraph Settings” – “Indents and Spacing” in MS Word).

The general structure of the manuscript should be as follows: Article Title (14 pt, Bold), Author Names (12 pt, Bold), Author Contact Information (10 pt), Turkish Abstract Title (12 pt, Bold), Abstract Text (11 pt), Turkish Keywords Title (10 pt, Bold), Keywords (10 pt), English Title of the Article (12 pt, Bold), English Abstract (11 pt), English Keywords Title (10 pt, Bold), English Keywords (10 pt).

Main headings in the text should be left-aligned, written in uppercase, bold, and numbered (12 pt). Second-level headings should be left-aligned, bold, with only the first letters of each word capitalized, and should be numbered. Third-level headings should also be left-aligned and bold, but only the first letter of the first word should be capitalized, and they should be numbered.

Full text should be written in 11 pt font, and the References heading should be written in 12 pt bold.

The abstract should consist of approximately 150 words. It should briefly include the aim and scope of the study, its originality and contribution to the field, the methodology, main findings, evaluations, and recommendations.

There should be at least three and at most six keywords. Keywords should be separated by commas and should not be numbered.

Table and figure titles should be placed above the tables and figures, numbered, and written in “Times New Roman”, 11-point font. The text within tables should also be in “Times New Roman”, 11-point font. If necessary, the source of the table or figure should be indicated below them in “Times New Roman”, 10-point font.

In the journal, in-text citations should be given in parentheses including the author’s surname and the publication year. For example: (Ahmet, 2005). If the cited work has two authors, the surnames of both authors should be indicated. For example: (Ahmet and Ozan, 2003). If the cited work has three or more authors, the expression “et al.” should be used after the first author’s surname. For example: (Ahmet et al., 2006). If multiple sources are cited within the text for the same subject, the authors’ surnames should be listed in alphabetical order. For example: (Ahmet, 2009; Can, 2001; Uysal, 2006). Different works by the same author published in the same year should be distinguished by adding the letters “a, b, c, …” after the publication year. For example: (Yılmaz, 2008a; 2008b).

Abbreviations used in in-text citations and in the reference list should be written in accordance with the language of the manuscript, regardless of the language of the cited source. For example: in Turkish manuscripts “ve, vd., Der./Ed.”; in English manuscripts “and, et al., Ed.”.

All references cited in the manuscript should be listed at the end of the article under the heading “REFERENCES” in alphabetical order according to the authors’ surnames. If there are multiple works by the same author published in the same year, they should be ordered by adding the letters “a, b, c, …” after the publication year.
