Estrogen and progesteron receptor expression in cellular leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate estrogen(ER) and progesteron(PR) receptor expression in cellular leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas Materials and Methods: The study includes 17 cases of cellular leiomyoma(CM) and 7 cases of leiomyosarcoma(LMS) which were diagnosed in Pathology Department of Zeynep Kamil Hoşpital between 1997 and 2003 years. One paraffin-embedded tümör tissue per each case were analyzed immunohistochemically for ER and PR ,receptors. Results: None of LMSs showed 'overexpression' for PR. Abstract

Amaç: Selüler leiomyom ve leimyo sarkomların Ostrojen ve progesteron reseptör ekspresyonlarını değerlendirmek. Materyal ve Method: 1997-2003 yıUarı arasında Zeynep Kamil Hastanesi Patoloji Bölümünde tanı almış 17 selüler leimyom ve 7 leiomyosarkom olgusu çalışma kapsamına alındı. Tümörleri temsil eden birer parafin blokda immunhisto kimyasal yöntemle östrojen ve progesteron reseptör boyanması incelendi.
