Fen Bilimleri Öğretmenlerinin Farkındalıkları, Tecrübeleri ve Mevcut Çabaları: Girişimcilik Kavramı Örneği

Öz

Bu araştırmada 1-5 yıllık deneyime sahip fen
bilimleri öğretmenlerinin fen bilimleri öğretim programında yer alan
“girişimcilik” kavramına yönelik farkındalıkları, “girişimcilik” kavramının fen
eğitimi ile bütünleştirilmesi konusundaki düşünceleri, deneyimleri ve mevcut
çabalarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri fen bilimleri
öğretmenlerinden oluşan 24 katılımcıdan elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda,
bazı fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin “girişimcilik” kavramının öğretim
programında yer aldığının farkında olduğu, bazı öğretmenlerin ise hala farkında
olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Diğer taraftan araştırmaya katılan fen bilimleri
öğretmenlerinin öğrenciler açısından meraklı olma, yaratıcı olma, üretken olma,
gözlem yapma, öz güvenli olma gibi girişimci özellikleri daha fazla
önemsedikleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin büyük bir çoğunluğunun
“girişimcilik” kavramının fen bilimleri öğretim programı ile
bütünleştirilmesine olumlu yaklaştıkları görülmüştür. Ancak bazı fen bilimleri
öğretmenlerinin girişimcilik eğitimine özgü öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerinden
yararlanmadıkları, yararlandığını düşünen fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin ise
ifade ettikleri öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerin doğrudan girişimcilik eğitimine
özgü olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Diğer taraftan öğrencilerin girişimci
özelliklerindeki gelişimi izlemeye yönelik çok az sayıda öğretmenin çaba
gösterdiği, bu yönde ölçme değerlendirme tekniklerine başvuran öğretmen
sayısının da oldukça az olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlara bağlı olarak hizmet
içi eğitimlerde öğretmenlerin girişimcilik konusunda eğitsel farkındalıklarını
arttıracak yöntem ve tekniklerden bahsedilmesinin faydalı olacağı söylenebilir.
