Dr. Işıl YALÇIN received her BA from Uludağ University, Faculty of Education, ELT Department in 1990 and taught EFL in various types of Turkish state high schools for ten years, participating in several in-service teacher education courses in different institutions. She completed her MA in ELT at Uludağ University in 2001. After a few years working as a research assistant and instructor in the same university, she was appointed to Anadolu University ELT for the doctorate education in 2004, and earned her PhD degree in 2010. She has delivered various conference presentations on aspects of language learning and teaching and applied linguistics in different regions, countries and continents, and published articles in refereed international journals. After nine more years at Uludağ University, she decided to live in Eskişehir applied for an available position. Presently she is an assistant professor in the ELT Department at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. Besides delivering various undergraduate ELT courses such as linguistics, pragmatics, discourse, vocabulary, and grammar, she provides teaching practice supervision and academic counselling for EFL teacher trainees. She enjoys handling various educational topics like the use of technology, learners with special needs, cultural awareness, foreign language learning in childhood, and motivation.
