Dear Authors,
LATER is currently under evaluation to be indexed in ULAKBİM TR Index, and it has updated its coverage criteria for Journal Evaluation this year (starting from 2020) in relation to research ethics. Therefore, as of May 2020, authors who are considering to submit papers are required to obtain an ethical committee approval from their institutions IF the type of article and data collection tools (e.g. questionnaires, interviews, observations, experiments etc.) necessitate to do so. The ethics approval statement should be mentioned as a footnote on the first page of the submission as well as under the Methodology section with the information including the approving institution, approval no and date. The ethics approval document needs to be uploaded along with the submission file and similarity report during the first submission. Irrespective of being qualitative, quantitative or mixed, research articles must have this document, with the exception of review articles and papers from MA or PhD dissertations. Phenomenological studies, alongside the ethics approval, also need to include the statement under the Methodology that informed consent form has been signed by the participants. Evaluation process will NOT be initiated for papers without the ethics approval document.

Language Teaching and Educational Research (LATER) (ISSN: 2636-8102)  is an international biannual(june-december) peer-reviewed academic journal that aims to promote the practical, theoretical and methodological understanding of learning, teaching and educational research. LATER encourages submission from all fields of education, and in particular, from second/foreign language pedagogy. LATER considers original research articles, instructional papers, literature reviews, research reports, meta-studies as well as book reviews for publication. LATER publishes articles in the English and Turkish languages.

Articles to be considered for publication must be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication elsewhere. The LATER Journal  has a double-blind peer review system. Any manuscript submitted for consideration is reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise in the related subject area.  

The LATER Journal is an open access journal, and does NOT require any fee from the authors for article processing, review and publication processes. Submissions must be made through the online submission system, from the "Submit a manuscript" tab.
